Supply Chain Strategy and Planning – Assistant Manager

 

The opportunity

 

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering Supply Chain & Operations client engagements and internal projects. The scope of the projects will be specifically in Supply Chain Planning, Integrated Business Planning, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Optimization, Network Optimization, Distribution and Logistics.  You will be responsible to support with market activities, develop thought leadership, create and deliver presentations and organize events related to the above-mentioned topics of the Supply Chain.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

An important part of your role will be to actively establish internal and external relationships to create opportunities for the Supply Chain & Operations team by working with other service lines in EY as well as creating opportunities at current and potential clients. You will be required to manage project teams, ensure quality delivery to the client and also anticipate and identify risks within engagements.

  • Perform duties of an engagement manager, such as setting up the engagement as well as the team and ensuring quality delivery on the engagement in line with the expectations of the client
  • Contribute to the sales pipeline by identifying opportunities at clients and developing content for proposals
  • Build strong internal relationships within EY, within Consulting, with other Service Lines, and globally within the Firm.
  • Build strong external relationships on a C-suite level at clients and collaborate with other service lines in client pursuits
  • Continuously work on personal growth and professional development

 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • More than 6 years’ work experience, ideally with a strong track record in the Consulting environment
  • Tertiary degree required in Industrial Engineering (or other engineering disciplines, but with relevant work experience) or Supply Chain Management. Bachelors (or higher) in Engineering, Science or Commerce acceptable.
  • Technical degrees (e.g. BTech) will only be considered if the candidate also has any of the above-mentioned degrees
  • MBA or similar degree will be beneficial
  • CSCP certification is a plus (issued by APICS)
  • Sector experience: Mining, Consumer Products & Retail, Industrial Products, Logistics Service Providers, Telecommunications

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in all or most of the following fields: Supply chain strategy, Sales and Operations Planning, Integrated Business Planning, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory optimisation, Network design and optimisation, Product life cycle management, Route-to-Market and/or Market Entry Strategy, Warehousing and Distribution, Manufacturing Excellence

Proficient in English language skills, written and verbal
