Role Overview

The Associate Staff Level role in Service Line Quality is a resource that plays a vital role in supporting the quality and risk management processes within the consulting firm. This staff-level, entry position is focused on essential compliance tasks associated with client and engagement acceptance procedures such as, anti-money laundering (AML) checks, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) measures, FinScan and Sanction screening.

The role is well-suited for recent graduates holding an undergraduate degree in quality and risk or law, or someone with an undergraduate data science or IT qualification who is interested in building a career in risk management.

The role offers the opportunity to join EY, build foundational expertise in regulatory and compliance frameworks within a consulting environment. You will participate in an environment where you will work as part of a team and we will teach you about Quality and Risk in a Consulting environment thus allowing you to start your career and progress from here under the guidance and coaching of experienced Managers. In time and with experience, you could grow into the Assistant Manager and Manger roles in the business and there will be opportunities to expand and grow into other areas in the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with client and engagement acceptance, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and compliant with firm policies.
  • Conduct anti-money laundering (AML) checks on clients, identifying and escalating potential risks as necessary.
  • Support anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) due diligence for client engagements, maintaining thorough records and reports.
  • Perform Finscan checks to screen clients and engagements against relevant sanctions and watchlists.
  • Assit with onboarding checks for contractors (covering Business Relationships, Independence, Data Gathering and Evaluation)
  • Collaborate with senior team members to address queries and resolve compliance issues.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant regulations and firm procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate law or commerce degree with a focus on Quality and Risk Management or a closely related discipline;
  • Or an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or diploma in Data Science who now has an interest in using these IT skills in and learning about Risk Management.
  • Newly qualified or recent graduate (within the last 2 years) is expected as this is an entry level position but older graduates with the appropriate qualifications and experience who are interested in the training programme will be considered.
  • Knowledge or experience in the use of Power BI dashboards will be considered an advantage, although not essential.
