Printing Specialist/Junior Designer

The Opportunity:
The Printing Specialist/Junior Graphic Designer will support the delivery of the Africa market leadership strategy and business objectives through coordinating and management of the final production of printing materials and creative design that accurately reflects the firm’s brand and corporate identity.
The Printing Specialist/Junior Graphic Designer role is within the EY Markets and Business Development function. The preferred candidate will have a proven track record of high-quality work, be an effective communicator, demonstrate ongoing innovation and implement high-level problem-solving ability.
The candidate will form part of the Creative Services team and be required to assist in the production of visual solutions that meet the needs of both external and internal clients. The Candidate will work from briefs to understand the user needs and interpret concepts and ideas into visual material that meet EY’s style and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- The Print Production Specialist is responsible for printing, packaging and delivery of the final product.
- Print production of high-quality materials including, but not limited to Brochures; Trifold; Z-fold; Gatefold; Placemats; Invitations; Name tags; Table Talkers; Belly bands; Lamination; Wire binding; Glue binding; etc
- Proactively liaise with technicians and Procurement with regards to managing the printer and all related materials
- Proactively engage the required individuals to resolve print issues as and when they arise
- Maintain an inventory of print stocks (Print toner, paper etc) ensuring that orders are placed in advance so that printing jobs are not interrupted.
Design
- Conceptualise and design branding materials, such as brochures, placemats, illustrations, layouts, infographics, on-screen presentations, conceptual design, proposals, social media collaterals and editing video footage
- Study information and materials to plan concepts for design and prepare rough drafts of materials based on the brief
- Adhere to EY brand guidelines, meet and exceed defined expectations in terms of aesthetics, quality, turnaround time and efficiency
- Familiar with the latest design trends and advocate the same to team members and customers
- Working knowledge of creating infographics and data visualization techniques
- Flawless typography skills and keen sense of balance and intuition when it comes to layout
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Understanding of current and future visual trends
- Aptitude for art direction
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience, preferably within an agency
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Graphic Design
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro
