Risk Consulting – Data Analyst | Johannesburg
Our Risk Consulting team is seeking a talented Data Analyst to transform complex data into meaningful insights that drive business decisions. In this role, you will work with large datasets, develop interactive dashboards, automate reporting processes, and support clients in leveraging data to improve performance, manage risk, and identify opportunities for growth.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across industries, applying data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence techniques to solve complex business challenges and deliver value-driven insights.
Your Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Insights
- Collect, cleanse, validate, and analyse large datasets from multiple sources.
- Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies to support business decision-making.
- Perform exploratory and advanced data analysis to generate actionable insights.
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Automate recurring reports and data processes.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and meaningful way.
- Monitor key business metrics and performance indicators.
Data Management
- Maintain data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across reporting environments.
- Support data governance initiatives and quality assurance processes.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data models and data pipelines.
Advanced Analytics
- Support predictive analytics, trend analysis, and data science initiatives.
- Use statistical techniques and analytical methodologies to solve business problems.
- Leverage data to identify efficiency improvements and business opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with business, technology, and risk teams to understand analytical requirements.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
- Partner with clients and internal teams to deliver analytical solutions that create business value.
Technical Skills
- SQL
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Python (preferred)
- Excel (Advanced)
- Data Modelling
- Data Visualization
- Database Management (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle)
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platforms is advantageous.
To Qualify For The Role
- Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Reporting, or a similar analytical role.
- Experience developing dashboards and visual reports.
- Strong SQL and data manipulation skills.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
