Role – Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital Data & Intelligence Delivery (DID) Leader

Step into a high impact leadership role where strategy, technology, and innovation collide. As the Africa Data & Intelligence Delivery (DID) Leader, you’ll shape how EY leverages data, drives digital transformation, and unlocks new ways of delivering value to clients across the continent.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Craft and execute a bold Data & Intelligence strategy aligned to EY Africa’s Innovation & Digital vision.
• Champion the rollout of this strategy in South Africa while supporting regional teams across Africa to activate theirs.

• Work hand in hand with Africa’s Custom Analytics and Innovation leaders to share best practices and accelerate our innovation agenda.
• Participate in leadership meetings around strategic vision, talent and other priorities with the Custom analytics leader, the Innovation leader and the Innovation and Digital leader.
• Represent Africa on global and EMEIA platforms, ensuring our region’s voice and needs are heard.
• Collaboration with super region SPOC from to ensure alignment across the Super Region
• Present insights, progress, and forward-thinking solutions to senior stakeholders.
• Lead and optimise digital delivery across the South Africa Data Delivery (SA DD) team.
• Identify inefficiencies and spark innovation through smarter processes and modernised tools.
• Enable the adoption of global technology and standardized digital solutions across the region.
• Ensure Data Delivery Managers and analysts are equipped, supported, and future ready.
• Drive performance, set KPIs, and provide meaningful coaching and professional development.
• Strengthen collaboration across teams, unlocking synergy between data delivery and implementation.
• Safeguard quality control across all deliverables, ensuring strict adherence to data governance and privacy standards.
• Oversee capacity planning, manage change proactively, and troubleshoot roadblocks with confidence.
• Compile budgets and forecasts for the SA Data Delivery team and review the team economics monthly.
• Connect with major clients to elevate their understanding of EY’s technology driven audit approach.
• Partner with the Go to Market Lead to raise tech awareness and enhance the client experience.

Experience

• Qualified CAs with 6 years post articles experience with an understanding of audit and data
• Proven experience in digital transformation, project delivery, and change management
• A passion for emerging technologies and how they shape the future of Assurance
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
• Sharp judgment and the ability to navigate complex decisions and risks
• The ability to coach and uplift junior team members
• Experience in audit, accounting, or data extraction/ETL processes

• Calm, confident conflict resolution abilities and resilience under pressure
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities
