The opportunity
EY is currently seeking experienced seasonal tax professionals for our winter/spring 2023 tax season. You'll join the team at a critical time, leveraging your expertise to help support our clients. In return, you can expect the support of some of the most engaging colleagues around. You'll receive hourly, over-time eligible pay, and a unique opportunity to enhance or refine your skills within one of our high performing tax teams.
Your key responsibilities
As a seasonal tax senior manager your main priority will be providing reviews and signing of tax returns for partnerships, while staying connected with the members of your team. The anticipated winter/spring 2023 tax seasonal time frame is January through April, with some variability depending on your needs and the needs of your team. Most teams have an average of 40 -50 hours/week available during busy season. Expectations around hours are discussed during the interview process for each role, so you'll be able to share your availability and know what to expect prior to coming aboard. In this role you'll be able to work remotely from within the United States, with no travel required.
Skills and attributes for success
- A strategic eye toward prioritizing when working on multiple complex projects
- Influencing skills, and the confidence and curiosity to question existing processes
- Experience reviewing K-1 extraction data and footnotes, and reviewing and signing federal and state partnership tax returns
- Familiarity with taxable income allocations
- Comfort with working remotely in a virtual team environment
To qualify for this role you must have
- Valid US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant investment or operating partnership tax compliance experience
- A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization
- Knowledge in partnership tax technical and transactional skills
Ideally, you'll also have
- A proven record of excellence in public accounting in a top or mid-tier firm
- Experience with hedge funds or private equity funds preferred
