The Ernst & Young's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice is a specialty that provides accounting, IFRS reporting, market risk management, regulatory and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FAAS includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals.

Our teams work together to coordinate the delivery of financial reporting, risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment and development banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations.

We are seeking for a Senior Consultant to join our Financial Accounting Advisory Services – Financial Services Industry team with the following qualifications;

• A relevant university degree, preferably in finance, business administration, industrial engineering, economics or a related discipline; an MBA or MSc is an asset,
• Min. 3 years of relevant experience in Audit with a focus on banking/capital markets at a Big 4 company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company,
• Experience in the project management and team management,
• Hands on experience with banking and insurance sector is an asset,
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated knowledge in accounting and reporting standards,
• Experience in MSOffice applications,
• Broad project management skills, effective written and oral communication skills,
• Ability to converse with counterparts at financial institutions regarding IFRS reporting, international accounting and reporting standards and economic capital topics and current practices.

Job Description

Serve as an integral member of an engagement team by supporting many aspects of client advisory projects. Develop your personal and business skills and embrace technical excellence by working on challenging projects with some of the most well-known financial institutions as well as through our extensive learning and development programs.
 
Advise financial services industry clients (especially Banks and Insurance companies) on a number of accounting and financial reporting related topics. These areas include:

• Supporting clients regarding IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 standards,
• IFRS 9 transition projects,
• Preparing IFRS reports,
• Applying IAS 29 effect on IFRS reports,
• Supporting banks and insurance companies on their financial reporting processes,
• Regulatory reporting,
• Assurance services on certain regulatory processes (i.e. Tier I-Tier II issuances),
• Assistings banks on their capital adequacy requirements.
