Lawyers advise clients on a broad range of legal planning and advisory matters based on both deep in-country technical knowledge and law engagements. By accurately analyzing information and applying legal knowledge to client situations, Lawyer prepares effective approaches, legal opinions and lawsuit petitions in accordance with client’s circumstances.

Lawyer makes a technical contribution to client engagements and internal projects. In the same way, participating in researching legal issues, preparing written communications, helping clients with responses to law authorities and improving their law function are other significant mission statements that Lawyer should be responsible. Lawyer shall also review and look after the client files and ensure that all relevant communication/QRM reviews and approvals are present in the files.

We are seeking for an Intern to join our EY Tax Corporate Law Department in Istanbul.

Your key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including contracts, corporate resolutions, and other legal correspondence.
• Conduct legal research on various corporate law issues and present findings to attorneys.
• Help organize and maintain legal files and databases.
• Attend and observe client meetings, notary public, trade registry, tax office, immigration office and court proceedings when possible.
• Assist with drafting memos, briefs, and other legal documents.

• Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, filing, and data entry.
• Following up new legislation, providing legal advice on draft laws.
• Participate in relevant educational programs to develop soft and technical skills.
• Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures.

What we look for

• Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable Turkish University or from a Foreign University with equivalency in Türkiye,
• Prior internship experience in a legal setting is a plus,
• Strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in corporate law,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (both in Turkish and in English),
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and eagerness to learn,
• Ability to follow through on numerous projects simultaneously under tight deadlines,
• Strong ability to research and follow up, attention to detail, analysis and reporting skills,
• Ability to perform high performance under high pressure,
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information,
• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Applications,
• No restriction for travelling inside and outside of Türkiye.
