We are seeking for a Supervising Associate to join our in-house legal team at EY Türkiye General Counsel’s Office (GCO), based in İstanbul, with the following qualifications, skills and experience:

 

  • University degree in law from a reputable Turkish University
  • Strong knowledge of Turkish Data Protection Legislation and practices, Turkish Commercial Code and Code of Obligations and Labor law
  • Fluency and good command of both written and spoken Turkish and English.
  • Minimum 6 years of full-time experience at a company as an in-house lawyer or as a law firm lawyer serving corporate clients in both litigation and corporate matters.
  • Corporate Secretarial Services experience such as preparing Annual General Board Meetings and Board of Directors Resolutions etc.
  • Knowledge of data privacy legislation and implementation will be considered a significant plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and communicate in multi-cultural business environment.
  • Good command in MS Office.

Job description;

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating business contracts such as engagement letters for audit and consultancy services, NDA's, various types of vendor contracts (service agreements, lease agreements etc.).
  • Performing personal data compliance procedures and following up on action plans with regional and global teams.
  • Preparation and follow-ups of the Corporate Secretarial Services such as Annual General Board Meetings and Board of Directors Resolutions, etc. including the necessary “Mersis” procedures.
  • Advising on matters related to compliance with local laws and regulations, as well as relevant Company’s policies; participation in development and implementation of Company policies and procedures.
  • Performing legal research and providing verbal and written legal advice to the company’s service lines and support functions.
  • Keeping relevant matter files and carrying out internal and external business correspondence and communications in connection with the above-said responsibilities.
