Payroll Operator, National Tax - Exceptional Delivery and Growth Engine (EDGE) - Global Compliance & Reporting (Global Payroll Operate) (Assistant Director) (Multiple Positions) (1668421), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Iselin, NJ.
Assist clients reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk and drive process improvement within their payroll functions. Manage the design, implementation and operation of global multi-country payroll operate services for clients. Lead global country teams utilizing one global methodology to track the end-to-end process and provide subsidiary governance throughout our client life cycle to mitigate risk, increase corporate transparency, increase compliance, achieve the leveraging of key data insights and providing clients with additional product offerings. Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on global trends, developments and regulations and applying them to moderately complex situations and undertaking non-routine, complex project-type work as requested by clients. Direct and resolve questions, as well as identify service opportunities with internal EY client-serving global teams. Maintain complex sets of data, reviewing data analytics and analyzing trends, including the collection of data per agreed-upon payroll calendars and other requirements. Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Tax, or a related field, plus 6 years of related work experience. Employer will accept a 3- or 4-year degree. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Tax, or a related field, plus 5 years of related work experience.
Must have 5 years of payroll or tax experience in one or a combination of the following: a professional services firm; a mid-size/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm; or a large company with an internal payroll/tax function.
Must have 5 years of payroll project management experience, providing global or multi-national payroll operate services.
Must have 5 years of experience in global compliance and reporting, payroll and/or other related finance activities.
Must have 5 years of experience maintaining complex reporting data sets and analyzing trends using Excel.
Must have 3 years of experience managing payroll projects that require ownership, project management, recommendations, solutions, root cause analysis, decisions and resolution, including the escalation of client and internal country issues.
Must have 2 years of experience supervising a team of junior consulting professionals.
Must meet one of the following certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP); SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) or SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional); Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources or Global Professional in Human Resources qualification from the HR Certification Institute; Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
Requires travel up to 20% of which less than 5% may be international to serve client needs.
