The opportunity
Ernst & Young LLP’s (EY) US Government and Public Sector (GPS) practice is a robust and emerging practice with tremendous potential for growth. Our US GPS practice combines an understanding of the public sector’s diverse needs, focused on delivering improved public services, with private sector leading practices. We respond to our client’s issues by bringing together highly skilled professionals across Advisory, Assurance, Tax and Transaction Advisory services. This integrated approach facilitates multidimensional support and flexibility to meet our clients changing needs. Your key responsibilities
We’ll look to you to interact directly with the customer, stakeholders, and subject matter resources to coordinate, validate and socialize in one or more areas of technology transformation. Your responsibilities will also include to manage, assess and implement changes to the related deliverables. You can expect to help our clients with technology-enabled transformation to achieve their business objectives. In return, you can expect to learn leading practices in technology transformation and delivery and be exposed to a wide variety of business issues solved using technology. We’re also looking for you to act as a role model for EY’s core values and maintain and expand client relationships through the delivery of high-quality work. Additionally, you will
- Analyze and evaluate current business processes and identify areas for workflow optimization
- Research and review up-to-date business processes, IT advancements, and automation opportunities to modernize systems
- Present ideas and findings using performance analytics and dashboards
- Train and coach staff members on standardized processes and SOPs
- Create initiatives based on the business’s requirements and operational needs
- Develop project plans and monitor project performance using project management systems and KPI reporting
- Collaborate with users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Work closely with senior management, partners, clients and technical teams
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong leadership skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Stakeholder management, workflow optimization, data modeling and knowledge of IT
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data, dashboards and other business processes to form ideas and fix problems
- Ability to communicate ideas in an expressive way that is easy for the receiver to understand

- Anticipate and identify risks, and escalate any issues as appropriate

- Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff; help create a positive learning culture
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
To qualify for the role you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years’ experience creating and executing project plans on complex engagements from analysis through implementation
- 2+ years’ experience analysing operational data, performance dashboards and other technology business processes to form ideas and solve problems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance or higher, which will be driven by the engagement requirements
Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Secret Clearance or higher
- Experience with CRM platforms, project management systems, process automation, SOP development and/or analytics tools such as HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Smartsheet, Trello, Tableau or Advanced Excel
- Experience and expertise with government financial regulators (e.g., SEC, FFIEC, FDIC, OCC, FRB, NCUA, HUD) and/or financial services organizations (Banks, Credit Unions, etc.).

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $69,700 to $114,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $83,500 to $130,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
