About Global Delivery Services
Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.
Our journey started in 2002 with approximately 200 people. Today we stand at 80,000+ professionals in ten locations around the world. We operate in Argentina, China, Hungary, India, Philippines, Poland, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Client service is focused on providing Consulting, Assurance, Tax, Strategy & Transactions, and Knowledge support to our clients around the world. The teams enable account teams worldwide to provide seamless, high-quality, value-added support, helping deliver exceptional client service.
Enablement Services provides cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative services to support EY’s global and local enablement teams. Markets, BMC, AWS, Finance and Accounting, Risk Management, Procurement, People Shared Services, IT Service Delivery and IT Global Infrastructure services, are among the services offered by Enablement Services.
Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The team brings the desired environment, technologies and skilled teams together for facilitation, rapid prototyping and innovative thinking. The competencies offered include analytics, digital, user experience, mobile technology, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies and open innovation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Cloud and Batch Operations Engineer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise production environments support with a strong focus on batch scheduling, job monitoring, and workflow troubleshooting. This role involves working across Linux, Windows, or Mainframe platforms, leveraging tools such as Control M, Autosys, StoneBranch, BMC, or Tivoli, along with Splunk for log analysis and monitoring. You will use scripting skills to automate operational tasks and follow ITSM processes using ServiceNow. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills who enjoy ensuring reliability and efficiency of time critical batch and cloud workloads.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot batch jobs using enterprise batch scheduling tools such as Control M, Autosys, StoneBranch UAC, BMC, or Tivoli
- Perform job monitoring, workflow analysis, and bottleneck troubleshooting to ensure timely and reliable batch execution
- Analyze logs and system behavior using Splunk and other monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Follow ITSM processes using ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management
- Support production environments across Linux, Windows, or Mainframe platforms
Must haves
- Hands on experience with batch scheduling tools (Control M, Autosys, StoneBranch UAC, BMC, or Tivoli) – mandatory
- Strong log analysis and job monitoring skills, with the ability to troubleshoot workflow failures
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell for automation and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Splunk for monitoring and operational analysis
- Practical understanding of ITSM processes and tools, preferably ServiceNow
- Exposure to at least one operating system: Linux, Windows, or Mainframe
Good to have
- Basic cloud knowledge and understanding of cloud-based workloads
- Experience working in hybrid or enterprise production environments
- Familiarity with performance tuning and capacity analysis for batch workloads
- Exposure to automation frameworks or job orchestration enhancements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify recurring issues and improvement areas
- Good documentation and operational handover experience
Skills and attributes for success
- Solid working knowledge of Linux, Windows, or Mainframe environments with operational mindset
- Ability to work effectively in production operations, collaborate across teams, and proactively prevent recurring issues
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in log analysis, job monitoring, and workflow bottleneck identification
- Willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift-based support environment.
- You will be responsible for executing tasks with increasing autonomy, applying sound judgment within defined parameters, and contributing to team outcomes. You are expected to demonstrate initiative, resolve routine issues independently, and support junior colleagues.
- You will anticipate and identify risks within engagements and share any issues with senior members of the team.
