- Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) – EWT supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. EWT will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.
- Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.
The opportunity
This role leads a team providing agile methodology services to cross-functional technology-related project(s) or product(s) teams, demonstrating technical expertise to improve productivity of teams and quality of work processes and outcomes. Project(s) or product(s) often have enterprise-wide implications. This role also ensures agile best practices are embedded in delivery, manages stakeholder alignment, and drives team performance through metrics and continuous feedback.
Your key responsibilities
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Leads, builds, and coaches high performing teams in the delivery of technology-related products or projects, ensuring team actions are aligned with project and business goals. Instruct and coach other professionals.
- Leads planning, team learning, and adaptation of processes to ensure the quality of team solutions.
- Enables a continuous learning environment, identifying ways to strengthen the team's understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and principles as they relate to technical capabilities.
- Builds and applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into technology-related product development.
- Recommends to the product owner and management in the definition and prioritization of technology-related outcomes. Identifies trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner.
- Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the development process to increase effectiveness of technology-related product development or architecture.
- Removes roadblocks to technology-related product development or architecture. Applies learnings to other development projects.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Manages stakeholder expectations regarding target scope, schedule, and budget.
- Helps teams estimate iteration deliverables and increase sprint velocity.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for agile methodologies and best practices.
- Promotes continuous communication and monitors team dynamics to foster collaboration.
- Facilitates scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, demos, and iteration meetings.
- Manages development tracking systems (e.g., product and sprint backlogs).
- Motivates and acts as the glue that holds cross-functional teams together.
- Monitors sprint progress and identifies impediments that hinder delivery.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting to proactively identify performance degradation and application disruptions
- Perform end to end triage and in depth troubleshooting of production incidents by analysing logs, telemetry signals, and related diagnostic data to quickly identify root causes and restore service
- Design and build ML models that analyse telemetry, logs and metrics to predict and prevent incidents before they impact users.
- Implement best in class detection mechanisms to reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and accelerate incident response
- Develop systems that learn from historical incidents, continuously improving diagnostic accuracy and accelerate incident response time
- Build innovative, scalable alerting solutions across a heterogeneous technology landscape, including AWS, Unix, and Mainframe platforms.
- Develop and maintain synthetic monitoring to simulate real user interactions and ensure early detection of failures.
- Perform daily health checks, triage and troubleshoot alerts, and resolve issues to minimize downtime and user impact.
- Conduct trend analysis, identify recurring patterns, and partner with application teams to enhance system reliability and availability
- Lead and participate in standard incident management processes, leveraging incident playbooks, diagnostic tools, and technical expertise to quickly identify impact and restore service
- Proactively trigger incident management when early signals indicate potential disruption
- Review and act on maintenance notifications, service advisories, and platform updates to mitigate operational risks.
- Maintain a centralized incident response playbook, ensuring steps, processes, and escalation paths are clearly documented.
- Document incidents, recovery steps, and learnings, and communicate them to relevant stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with application (App) development teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve operational problems impacting the platform or applications.
- Act as a bridge between platform operations and development teams to ensure timely root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Work collaboratively with developers, DevOps engineers, and IT stakeholders to improve performance, reliability, and operational maturity.
- Continuously refine alerting to reduce false positives and false negatives.
- Stay current with emerging observability tools, monitoring strategies, and SRE practices.
- Promote and support adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles across teams.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
- Willingness to work in a 24×7 support model, as needed

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Agile software development, with at least two years leading large cross-functional teams on enterprise technology initiativesBachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field is required; graduate degree preferred.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (mandatory); AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands on experience as an operations engineer, full stack developer, or automation engineer.
- Strong expertise in IT project management, Agile methodologies, and SDLC best practices with experience in IT infrastructure, software development, and enterprise IT solutions.
- Proficiency in risk management, budgeting, and IT governance. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and IT compliance standards.
- Must have skills: Node.js, TypeScript, ECS, Kubernetes,Kore.AI, Android, iOS development
- Good to have skills include Agile team leadership, stakeholder management, sprint planning, backlog prioritization, velocity optimization, and use of agile tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps. Strong skills in collaboration, verbal and written communication, team motivation, time management, and critical thinking are essential.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP, or ICAgile Certified Professional.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing agile teams, remove delivery blockers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in fast-paced, enterprise-level environments.
- Experience working with Confluence.
- Experience monitoring and refining dashboards.
- Experience in continuous process improvement for process flows and workflows.
Required Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability collaborating with application teams, ability to handle escalations and troubleshoot complex application issues.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting logs to generate operational intelligence and accelerate incident resolution.
- Experience with observability, SRE principles, and automation to reduce manual effort and improve system reliability.
- Expert level knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Experience with REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems
- Strong tooling and automation skills using Python, Java, Selenium etc.
- Prior experience in incident management and stakeholder communication.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies.
- Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools such as Honeycomb, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or other similar tools
- Background in supporting Java-based applications on AWS, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and deployment support.
- Experience with additional monitoring and visualization tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and ThousandEyes.
- Exposure to Unix and Mainframe environments.
- Experience in networking and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Experience building AI/LLM-powered applications (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar agent frameworks
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
