EY Technology supports our technology needs through three business units:

Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.

Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) – EWT supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. EWT will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.

Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.  

The opportunity

This role is responsible for ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing platform solutions by troubleshooting technical issues, managing escalations and optimizing system operations across Windows and macOS. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance reliability, security and scalability while contributing to automation, documentation and continuous improvements. Additionally, the Specialist supports infrastructure monitoring, performance optimization and the adoption of new technologies to improve overall system efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain platform solutions that support business needs, ensuring high performance, scalability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to platform stability, performance and integration across multiple environments.
• Develop and optimize system software, including operating systems, device drivers, and utilities, to enable seamless hardware-software interaction.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and vendor solutions, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
• Elevate code and system updates into development, testing and production environments while maintaining change control and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and application developers to ensure compatibility, security and performance of platform components.
• Develop and enforce technical standards, conducting system analysis and defining logical and physical architectures for platform solutions.
• Maintain and update platform software to address security vulnerabilities, optimize resource management, and enhance system functionality.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance, training and support for troubleshooting complex platform-related issues.
• Document processes, system architecture and technical decisions to support future updates, troubleshooting, and team collaboration. Also, Participate in special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in platform engineering

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in platform engineering, systems support, or infrastructure management.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA), or Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA).
• Strong troubleshooting skills with expertise in Windows desktop, macOS
• Experience in managing escalations, monitoring operations and resolving complex platform-related issues.
• Knowledge of system architecture, hardware-software integration, and performance optimization.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to support cross-functional teams
• Knowledge in Desktop Packaging – Windows and Mac, Automation using UI Path – process automation.
• Scripting knowledge in Powershell.
• Must know Python or Go.

• Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
• Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client)
