Within EY, FAAS (Financial Accounting Advisory Services) operates across a global network and the UK has dedicated team focussing on Financial Services clients. Given the dynamic and innovative landscape of financial services and products, FAAS specialists must deal with the added complexity of understanding and implementing financial accounting and regulatory change in a constantly changing environment.

The opportunity

You will be joining a team that assists some of the largest global financial institutions in navigating the ever-changing accounting and reporting landscapes, helping them make informed, practical and sustainable decisions. The team specialises in a range of services, including:

• Changes impacting Financial & Regulatory Reporting, Non-Financial Reporting (ESG Reporting) and Treasury
• Finance Operating Model,
• Controls Transformation,
• Complex accounting policy matters,
• Strategic transactions preparedness, and
• Finance systems transformation, process automation and data flow optimization.

Everything you’ll do will contribute to providing exceptional advisory services for our clients. Colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds will look to you first for answers, making you a high-profile contact for resolving complex challenges. As you build your knowledge and experience, you’ll become a credible advisor, influencing clients and engagement teams on resolutions that will impact entire industries.

Your key responsibilities

• Deliver the day-to-day deliverables on client engagement projects to maintain quality and our promise for exceptional service delivery to all our clients,
• Broden and deepen our relationship with our clients,
• Contribute towards client and internal project management,
• Building strong relationships across service lines within EY to ensure best in class delivery to our clients,
• Actively contribute towards business development initiatives and development of specialized knowledge sharing material for internal and external purposes
• Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.
• Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.

Skills and attributes for success

• Qualified in ACCA or ACA qualified or equivalent professional qualification
• Have a strong understanding of financial reporting and regulatory reporting processes of financial services clients,
• Prior experience in contributing to finance projects,
• Have a good understanding of recent accounting and regulatory developments, and the likely impact on financial services clients,
• Mind set to challenge the status quo and to research into complex topics

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Have a strong understanding of financial reporting and regulatory reporting processes of financial services clients
• Experience in Financial Services, ideally banking and capital markets
• Good understanding of ERP systems and automation tools
