The opportunity

EY Technology Consulting is seeking a Manager to help Oil & Gas clients drive technology‑enabled transformation by improving operational and finance outcomes through process, data, and platform modernization.

This role focuses on Production Accounting Solutions such as Quorum Energy Components (EC) and ProCount. As a Manager, you will lead production accounting modernization workstreams—owning delivery outcomes, managing teams, and serving as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders—across implementation, optimization, integrations, testing, and adoption activities.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you will:

  • Lead Production Accounting workstreams within sector transformation engagements, with a focus on Quorum Energy Components and related platforms (e.g., IFS Merrick ProCount)
  • Provide expert guidance on Production Accounting processes and related solutions such as Energy Components and ProCount functionality, driving fit‑to‑standard decisions and translating business needs into clear, deliverable scope and acceptance criteria
  • Lead the allocation network approach in Production Accounting Applications, governing configuration, documentation, and validation across environments and ensuring assumptions are captured and outputs are verified
  • Direct and govern analysis and optimization of Energy Components and related platforms (e.g., IFS Merrick ProCount) data structures and tables, establishing standards, ensuring consistency, and resolving data‑driven defects and variances in coordination with technical and vendor teams
  • Lead and oversee integrations between Production Accounting Applications and upstream/downstream systems, including interface requirements, dependency planning, SIT/UAT coordination, defect triage, and cutover readiness
  • Lead data migration efforts from legacy production accounting systems (e.g., Enertia, ProCount, EnergySys), owning reconciliation strategies, control checkpoints, signoff gates, and stakeholder approvals to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Own the plan to outline, document, and test regulatory reporting and pressure compensation processes, ensuring traceability, evidence capture, compliance readiness, and issue resolution
  • Provide leadership on Prior Period Adjustments (PPA), including impact analysis, documentation, and stakeholder alignment on approach and remediation actions
  • Oversee development and delivery of role‑based training and enablement for business users, supporting go‑live readiness and hypercare activities
  • Lead delivery governance, including milestones, dependencies, RAID management, quality reviews, and executive‑level stakeholder communications, while maintaining delivery timelines and quality
  • Coach and review the work of consultants and senior consultants, removing blockers, motivating teams, and contributing to long‑term client relationships and practice growth.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong expertise in Oil & Gas Production Accounting / hydrocarbon accounting
  • Hands‑on experience with Quorum Energy Components (EC), ProCount, or other commercial Production Accounting applications across implementation, optimization, or support engagements
  • End‑to‑end understanding of the hydrocarbon chain of custody, from wellhead through sales and reporting
  • Demonstrated leadership delivering complex transformation initiatives across requirements, build/config, test, deploy, and stabilization phases
  • Executive‑ready communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, risks, and delivery trade‑offs

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in a large multi-national organization.
  • Progressive experience in consulting, industry, or a vendor environment leading delivery teams and client workstreams in Production Accounting modernization and/or Energy Components programs

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Prior consulting experience serving Energy or Natural Resources clients
  • Experience leading integrations, data conversions, or regulatory reporting initiatives
  • Experience coaching teams and supporting delivery oversight
