Tax Advisor - National Tax - (Indirect Tax -Tax Technology & Transformation) (Senior) - Multiple Positions - 1686234, Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Houston, TX
 
Provide business tax services and tax technology services to help client companies meet complex demands for direct tax reporting, compliance and planning. Build custom solutions/tools for federal and state and local tax reporting and returns. Develop models based on reporting and tax requirements such as data mining and analytics, C-Suite reporting and direct tax process automation. Monitor assigned tasks until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging systems, documenting and implementing process change and monitoring overall project profitability. Identify ways to automate manual tasks using existing and emerging technologies including Alteryx, RPA, Power IB, ONESOURCE, and CorpTax. Consolidate tax data to make analysis and planning more efficient. Improve reporting capabilities to enhance our clients’ ability to evaluate risk and capitalize on opportunities.  
  
Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services focusing on more complex, judgmental and/or specialized issues. Demonstrate technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Learn about EY and its service lines and actively assess and present ways to apply knowledge and services.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Tax, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and 2 years of work experience in indirect tax process and data improvement. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Tax, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and 1 year of work experience in indirect tax process and data improvement.
 
Must have 1 year of experience in indirect income tax process and/or operational assessments. 
 
Must have 1 year of experience in indirect Tax Data and Reporting requirements for ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, and/or Hyperion). 
 
Must have 1 year of experience implementing third-party direct or indirect tax systems including ONESOURCE, CorpTax, Vertex, Avalara, and/or Longview. 
 
Must have 1 year of experience identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial and/or tax systems and emerging technologies. 
 
Must have 1 year of experience with data and analytics solutions. 
 
Must have 1 year of experience developing ETL solutions. 
 
Requires domestic travel up to 50% and/or international travel up to 20% in order to serve client needs.
