Position Summary

The Communications and Engagement Consulting Assistant Director develops comprehensive communication strategies that enhance engagement, reinforce brand identity and support firm-wide initiatives. They are responsible for internal communications that simplify transformation initiatives and help teams understand what’s changing, why it matters and how to adopt new tools, workflows and processes. They partner across the firm, working closely with leadership to develop clear, timely materials and alignment needed to support the business.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Builds and executes integrated internal communications and change management strategies that support business priorities and leadership direction.
  • Leads change management activities to drive adoption and readiness for initiatives, using established methodologies
  • Designs, builds and maintains SharePoint sites and pages to support business needs, usability and content organization.
  • Works closely with design teams to manage video production from concept through final delivery.
  • Serves as a connector across the firm, leading and collaborating on messaging, emails, webcasts, videos, talking points, enablement and amplification efforts.
  • Translates complex transformation topics into simple, actionable communications – leveraging AI tools to accelerate drafting and tailor messaging.
  • Develops practical materials that guide teams through new tools, workflows and processes.
  • Aligns materials with broader practice messaging and bold branding.
  • Assesses stakeholder readiness to inform communication timing and reinforce adoption.
  • Coordinates messaging around milestones, pilot insights and rollout timelines to support smooth transitions.
  • Gathers feedback from teams to identify barriers and improve clarity, sequencing and adoption.
  • Uses analytics and audience feedback to measure communication effectiveness and iterates approaches.
  • Builds and cultivates strong trusted advisor relationships with key internal stakeholders to provide communications support to meet approved business goals and objectives.

    • Works independently on communications activities, including managing the work of others.
    • Manages multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Assumes leadership role for large projects.
    • Identifies and manages key resources needed to execute.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Mastery of written and oral communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, including the development of junior staff.
  • Must be able to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward, concise and easily digestible manner for broad audiences.
  • Works independently within area of internal communications activities. Manages the work of others, as needed. Receives limited, general direction rather than supervision.
  • Education:
      • A bachelor’s degree with a marketing or communications major or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
      • Approximately 7+ years of experience in internal communications and at least 5+ years of change management experience is required.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $99,300 to $185,600.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $119,100 to $210,900.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
