The Opportunity

The EY Financial Services technology consulting team is continuing to grow and develop appropriate technology propositions aligned to market needs and demand. We work collaboratively with the financial services clients and other EY teams to enhance their ability to use and interpret modern technologies and develop their own enhanced capabilities to support better choices making, along with regulatory compliance, within their business.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager / Senior Manager within our Financial Services Technology Consulting team, you will specialize in the Wealth and Asset Management sector and will work closely with our clients, and assist senior management in leading engagement teams, provide valuable insight and advice to support clients to make strategic and operational decisions about their business. You will contribute to the continued success and growth of the business and the practice, alongside some of the most highly regarded colleagues within the Financial Services industry.

12. Delivering of mid-scale projects in the project team, assessing engagement risks, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
13. Improving the productivity of the Wealth and Asset Management Technology Consulting team through Knowledge Management collaboration and teambuilding
14. Designing, developing and implementing strategic and operational initiatives for our clients
15. Driving innovation by creating an environment that encourages innovation and lead in this area by implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements
16. Developing strong internal and external networks for long term relationships, managing EY accounts and to bring all of EY to clients
17. Establishing and building effective working relationships with peer-level clients as part of project delivery roles

Skills and attributes for success

• Bring Wealth and Asset Management industry knowledge and experience to the client which they may not have access to internally
• Proven delivery leadership and client service excellence in Wealth, Asset Management, Asset servicing, Hedge Funds and/or Prime Brokerage and/or relevant experience in Asia
• Self-starter, with excellent communication and presentation skills
• Confident and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment
• Demonstrate expertise across engagement and practice teams
• Always display excellent communication and presentation skills to people across all levels of an organization
• Take personal responsibility for the quality of delivery
• Comfortable and confident around senior stakeholders, internally and externally including presenting, leading meeting and working sessions
• Extremely comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint. Much of our work involves detailed analysis and report writing, so it is critical you can work with these tools

To qualify for the role you must have

• A successful track record in the Wealth, Asset or Investment Management industry, gained through experience working at a Wealth/Asset Manager, a top tier consultancy (Big 4, IBM, Accenture etc..), a specialist financial services consultancy, or a Wealth/Asset Management technology or service provider
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of technology advisors focussing on projects for Wealth, Asset or Investment Management clients
• Experience of developing sales collateral such as proposal responses
• Technology skills across architecture, IT operating model design/cost reduction or experience of major package selection/service implementation (Asset Management Order Management System, such as  BlackRock Aladdin, Simcorp, Charles River; Alternatives : eFront/ Investran /Allvue)
• Good appreciation of current market trends in the Wealth & Asset Management industry and the technology that underpins it.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Industry recognised business, finance, IT or project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE 2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, BPR, CIMA or CFA
• A good understanding of one or more of the following:  Buy-Side front and middle office, risk, compliance, advice and financial planning, Operations, Alternatives or Asset Servicing
• A good understanding of the end-to-end process flows and functional areas of Wealth & Asset Management participants
