Our Tax Technology and Transformation practice provides a wide range of services around various finance and tax operational challenges that our clients face with respect to technology, data, process and people. As part of a global team of tax and technology professionals in 150 countries, you will get plenty of opportunities to use and build upon your experience in strategy and process consulting, data management, implementation of tax software systems and designing and building tax requirements for various systems to help our clients improve the performance of tax functions.
The opportunity
As a member of the Tax Technology & Transformation practice, you’ll create exciting solutions and support the team in building and maintaining relationships with clients. You will be involved in key projects to assist our clients to optimise performance of their functions.
Your key responsibilities
Depending on the needs of our clients and your work experience, there are many different types of projects you could be working on; identifying ways to improve operational effectiveness in tax functions, reviewing the process and controls that are in place including technology, looking at effectiveness of the various technology systems our clients use to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes, assessing the overall risk to establish a proper control environment; designing and building custom tax applications. As an associate / senior associate, you would be working with leadership as a part of these exciting and impactful projects.

• Strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience and the ability to learn and operate new technology solutions, processes and software. This should include traditional ERP solutions, EPM and other management performance technologies as well as the latest machine learning and AI technologies.
• Ability to work on deliverables from offshore teams (as needed) to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements
• Documenting technical and business requirements, including Identifying and prioritizing issues
• Have an interest and experience in improving the performance of finance and tax functions, the demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others, and willingness to develop meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues
To qualify for the role you must have
• A degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
• A minimum of one year (for associate) and three years (for senior associate) of related work experience
• A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
• Excellent communication and business writing skills
• A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving consulting skills
• Strong and motivated team player
Ideally, you’ll also have
• Experience in managing large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g. ERP implementations, EPM and other finance transformations, etc)
• Embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (e.g., Oracle, SAP, HFM, Anaplan, Tagetik)
• Experience with custom applications (e.g., VBA/VSTO, SQL Server, MS Power Platform Suite)
• Knowledge in implementing tax technology solutions (e.g., ONESOURCE, Sabrix, Vertex, SharePoint, CCH, RPA software)
