The opportunity
As a Snowflake Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing data warehouse and lakehouse solutions using the Snowflake platform and integrating into SAP BDC.
Your expertise will be crucial in enabling the SAP BDC team to build a modern, scalable data platform that integrates SAP data with cloud-native services from Microsoft, Nvidia, Databricks, AWS, and Google.
You will collaborate closely with data architects, engineers, and business teams to ensure data ingestion, storage, and access solutions on Snowflake meet performance, security, and compliance requirements supporting enterprise SAP data migration and analytics.
Your key responsibilities
- Design and implement Snowflake data warehouse and lakehouse architectures aligned with SAP data migration strategies.
- Develop and optimize Snowflake SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic to support SAP workloads.
- Manage Snowflake account configurations, resource monitors, virtual warehouses, and access controls.
- Integrate Snowflake into SAP BDC, SAP Databricks and Databricks
- Integrate Snowflake with SAP data sources and other data platform components, including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and cloud storage.
- Implement best practices for data partitioning, clustering, and caching to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
- Participate in data ingestion automation, metadata management, and monitoring within Snowflake environments.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce data governance, encryption, and compliance policies in Snowflake.
- Support CI/CD and automation of Snowflake deployment and pipeline orchestration.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to team members and clients.
- Stay updated on Snowflake innovations and new features relevant to SAP data platforms.
Skills and attributes for success
- Deep expertise in Snowflake data warehouse platform, including performance tuning and cost optimization.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Snowflake-specific features such as Time Travel, Zero Copy Cloning, Streams, and Tasks.
- Experience with integration into SAP BTP, BDC and Hana DB
- Familiarity with SAP data types, structures, and migration tools for seamless integration with Snowflake.
- Experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP) and data orchestration tools (ADF, Airflow).
- Understanding of data security, role-based access control (RBAC), and compliance in Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data modeling principles for enterprise data warehouses.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global SAP and data teams.
Other Requirements:
- Experience working on SAP migration or BDC data projects is preferred.
- Agile and DevOps experience with automation and pipeline deployment.
- Certifications like SnowPro Core Certification or relevant cloud certifications are desirable.
- Willingness to work in distributed teams and coordinate across time zones.
Job Requirements:
Education:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
9+ years in data warehousing and cloud data platforms with 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $87,200 to $163,000. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $104,600 to $185,300 . Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
