Are you ready to take the next step in your career in competition law? Our rapidly growing Competition Law practice is looking for a new colleague to join our Helsinki-based team, serving both Finnish and international clients.

The opportunity

 

You will join a dynamic, low-hierarchy team that works closely with our M&A legal practice in Helsinki, as well as with colleagues across our global network of professionals.

Notably in M&A, we have emerged among the top tier advisors with our integrated model, offering excellent career prospects for rising stars in our team of around 50 lawyers in Finland. 

In 2023, we were ranked second, and in 2024 fourth, by MergerMarket for the number of legal advisory deals in Finnish transactions. Our comprehensive M&A legal practice serves corporate, private equity, and other clients on a daily basis.

Over the past year, our Competition Law practice has also established a strong presence, with a growing portfolio of significant client assignment – particularly in transactions requiring competition authority clearance.

 


Your key responsibilities

 

In your role, you will advise clients on all aspects of Finnish and EU competition law, with a primary focus on merger control assignments. You will collaborate closely with colleagues within the competition law team and across service lines and locations to support our clients in challenging transactions and a variety of other competition law matters, including antitrust, FDI, procurement, and state aid. You are also expected to take responsibility, proactively identify client and regulatory requirements, and act independently in client-facing situations – while always having the support of your team.

 


Skills and attributes for success

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • At least 2–4 years of experience in competition law assignments at a law firm, in-house legal department, or competition authority
  • A solid understanding of merger control procedures from start to finish
  • Experience in other types of competition law matters and/or competition economics is considered an advantage
  • Fluent in Finnish and English
