Position Summary
We are hiring a Supply Chain Director for our EY Parthenon practice in SaT GDS to support the rapid growth of our Supply Chain Reimagined practice in the US market. This
role will be pivotal in leading efforts to build cutting-edge supply chain solutions, supporting business development, overseeing engagement delivery, and driving GDS practice growth. The ideal candidate will have deep supply chain expertise, extensive experience in managing supply chain strategy, reimagination and cost optimization engagements alongwith a passion for operational excellence and digital transformation.

 

Essential Functions of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Support
    • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the US-based business development teams to provide supply chain expertise, helping design and develop proposals that align with client needs and leverage onshore and GDS capabilities.
    • Relationship Management: Serve as the GDS point of contact for regional practice PPED community and prospective clients, helping shape solutions that demonstrate EY value, and fostering long-term partnerships.
    • Thought Leadership: Offer insights on global supply chain trends, helping the US team craft forward-looking, differentiated solutions to win new business.
    • Market Expansion: Assist in identifying new opportunities for GDS services in supply chain management to further grow the firm’s market presence in the US.

 

  • Engagement Delivery
    • Project Oversight: Lead GDS teams in the delivery of complex supply chain reimagination / transformation projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives, timelines, and budgets.
    • Client Management: Act as the primary GDS lead, collaborate with the US engagement teams, ensuring seamless communication and timely execution of project milestones.
    • Operational Efficiency: Continuously optimize GDS delivery processes, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery and project success.
    • Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality control measures, ensuring GDS deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.

 

  • Solution Building
    • Custom Supply Chain Solutions: Collaborate with USteams to co-develop and deploy innovative supply chain solutions, leveraging GDS capabilities for scalability and operational efficiency.
    • Digital Transformation: Lead the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics into supply chain offerings, enhancing the firm’s digital supply chain capabilities.
    • Best Practices Development: Build, document, and continuously refine GDS best practices for supply chain optimization, ensuring consistency and high performance across projects.

 

  • Practice Building
    • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the long-term growth strategy of the GDS practice, helping define service offerings and capabilities that align with the firm’s overall Supply Chain Reimagined vision.
    • GDS Expansion: Identify opportunities to expand GDS services and capabilities, such as increasing service scope or enhancing technology-driven offerings to support broader client needs.
    • Brand Building: Represent the GDS practice in internal and external forums, sharing expertise and showcasing the value of GDS delivery in delivering transformative supply chain solutions.

 

  • Talent Management
    • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse GDS team of supply chain professionals, fostering a high performance, collaborative culture. Recruitment & Retention: Drive talent acquisition efforts to attract top supply chain talent, ensuring the team is equipped to handle the growing demand from the US market.
    • Employee Development: Develop and implement training and career development programs to upskill GDS teams, with a focus on continuous learning, leadership development, and technical proficiency.
    • Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and create pathways for career progression to build a motivated and capable GDS workforce.

Education & Experience
Qualifications:

  • Experience: 12-15 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on driving GDS operations and supply chain reimagination and transformation projects.
  • Leadership: At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of supply chain processes including procurement, logistics, demand planning, inventory management, and digital supply chain technologies.
  • Technology: Experience in deploying and managing supply chain solutions that integrate with technologies such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), data analytics platforms, and AI-driven tools.
  • Global Perspective: Proven track record of working in a global, matrixed environment, with a focus on managing GDS operations and supporting onshore (US-based) client teams.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, PMP) are preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across geographies.
