The opportunity

This is a client-facing leadership role in a rapidly building the practice. You will own the RA strategy, operating model and delivery excellence, bringing deep telecom domain expertise across mediation, rating, billing, interconnect/roaming, and partner settlements. You’ll build collateral and define KRIs, control frameworks, benchmarks, and dashboards, while partnering with larger risk consulting and data engineering teams to design offerings materially reduce revenue leakage. You’ll drive go to market assets, participate in deals, build offerings and mentor a small team. To drive this, you will engage with senior EY and client stakeholders (CRO/CFO/CTO/Billing Ops) to deliver measurable outcomes across engagements.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

Market, Leadership & Growth

  • Lead RA solution vision, roadmap and value case (leakage hypotheses, priority areas, and quantified impact).
  • Act as the primary RA subject matter expert — advising on telco RA regulations, leading practices, and market benchmarks.
  • Partner with onshore/onsite teams to shape proposals, thought leadership and re-usable assets (KRIs library, control catalogues, playbooks).
  • Build executive relationships; communicate complex RA issues simply and credibly to senior management.

 

Quality delivery

  • Own the end-to-end RA risk and controls design across the revenue lifecycle: network usage → mediation → rating → billing → invoicing → collections → GL/revenue recognition.
  • Define and validate KRIs/KPIs, materiality thresholds, tolerances, sampling logic, and exception handling workflows.
  • Oversee usage-to-cash reconciliations (CDR/UDR vs. mediation vs. billing vs. GL), partner and roaming settlements (TAP, NRTRDE), prepaid/postpaid, discounts, bundles, and digital channels.
  • Review data models, dashboards and alerts to ensure risk coverage, accuracy and explainability.
  • Drive UAT, sign-offs and benefits tracking; establish continuous improvement loops with client teams.

 

Operational excellence

  • Stand up the RA operating model (processes, RACI, SLAs, governance), including issue triage, root cause analysis and remediation tracking.
  • Ensure auditability and compliance (e.g., documentation, control evidence, data lineage, change logs).
  • Manage engagement budgets, risks and delivery timelines with proactive stakeholder communication.

 

People leadership

  • Coach and develop analysts/engineers; promote high standards on analysis, documentation, storytelling and client stewardship.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, integrity, and measurable impact.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Deep understanding of telco BSS/OSS and revenue processes: mediation, rating, billing, invoicing, credit/collections, GL.
  • Strong grounding in RA frameworks (e.g., TM Forum guidance), KRIs/KPIs, materiality, leakage taxonomies, and benchmarking.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing CDR flows, partner/interconnect/roaming, provisioning-to-billing alignment, and discount/promotions leakage.
  • Acumen in dashboards/analytics (Power BI/Tableau), storytelling and executive-ready communication.
  • Strong program management, issue prioritization and risk management.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 12+ years of experience in Telecom Revenue Assurance with recent, hands-on RA leadership (operator, vendor or Big 4/consulting).
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing RA control frameworks and KRIs at scale.
  • Experience collaborating with data engineers on reconciliations, lineage, and monitoring.
  • Proven stakeholder management with CFO/CRO/Billing/IT leadership.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; ability to travel as needed.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Exposure to leading RA tools (e.g., WeDo RAID, Subex ROC, Araxxe, TEOCO) and billing stacks (e.g., Amdocs, Ericsson, Netcracker).
  • Knowledge of 5G/IoT monetization, digital channels, convergent charging, and partner ecosystems/marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with financial close/RevRec (IFRS/ASC) touchpoints and audit requirements.
  • Experience in setting up an RA CoE and benefits realization/ROI tracking.
