This is a role requires a good knowledge of EY Global / US SEC independence policies and relevant independence procedures, candidate should be able to demonstrate GDS team’s ability to provide support for potential EY clients. The candidate should be comfortable working in an unstructured & complex environment requiring out of box thinking, logical reasoning, sound communication skills and ability to make quick choices.
The Opportunity
The Senior Associate within RMS-Independence team would be required to develop subject matter expertise in RMS process and policies. An individual should be able to continuously add value to assigned processes and develop solutions for situations that may not have been previously documented. A good understanding around establishing firm independence for pursuits and IPOs will be an important part of this profile and the candidate will be expected to spearhead & manage the entire Independence procedures life cycle. Providing feedback to the team members and helping them to move the learning curve will be another aspect of this role.
Your key responsibilities
Technical expertise
- Conduct research using both systematic and intuitive secondary research techniques
- Study the research findings, draw inferences and conclusions in response to the research requirement
- Know key requirements of firm and regulators’ risk management rules and policies
- Uses analytical and project management methodology and tools
- Completes all assigned projects/tasks in line with the standard operating procedures
- Proposes suggestions and solutions for improvements to process/es and/or develops new approaches in the process
- Flags issues/potential challenges to the team supervisors at an appropriate time so that timely action can be initiated
- Acts as a liaison between the client teams, other members of the RMS team, and various functional areas within the firm
- Builds a network of people within RMS and across the firm
- Provide feedback and also facilitate gathering of feedbacks from the team members to continuously improve the processes
Client Management
- Facilitate regular connects with engagement teams to gather relevant information on the project.
- Proactively manage client expectations by establishing a strong client management framework.
- Address and resolve any service delivery issues or escalations.
People Management
- Oversee team performance, including goal setting, performance assessment, and providing feedback.
- Ensure adherence to workflow protocols and tools.
- Coordinate training schedules for both new and existing team members.
- Mentor and coach team members for professional growth and recommend training to address any skill gaps.
Skills and attributes for success
- Provides first point of contact for guidance to the team and only unanswered / new questions or queries are put to an onshore team
- Pledged for quality of output through internal review mechanisms
- Workflow allocation and ensuring delivery in agreed timelines
- Providing team members with performance feedback; helping counsellor in completing periodic performance reviews
- Manage day-to-day administrative issues and communicating appropriately to the customers / project manager at GDS
- Responsible for Achieving customer satisfaction measures / project critical success factors
To qualify for the role, you must have
- MBA/MCOM/MA or equivalent post-graduate degree from a reputed institute
- 5-7 years of experience in a research / analysis role
- Candidates with exposure to handling international customers/client interaction would be preferred.
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills in English
- Proficient in MS Office
- Must be well versed with financial instruments used for investment purposes like Shares, Mutual Funds, Insurance etc.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment
- Flexibility to work in rotational shifts
Technologies and Tools
- Experience in MS office suites like Microsoft 365, MS excel, PowerPoint
- Business analytics tool like Power-BI
