The Opportunity
You will be responsible for supporting the Talent agenda across all EY GDS International locations and will serve as Deputy to the International Talent Leader and Chief of Staff.
You will be the key point of contact for leadership on a range of talent-related matters and will drive and implement the engagement agenda at an international, multi-country scale. You will work closely with local country Talent Leaders and stakeholders to provide change leadership, increase workforce capability and talent management. You will build a deep understanding of business unit direction and Talent-related topics/issues to ensure successful implementation of key projects and processes centrally across regions.
You will need to be collaborative, influential and work across functions to execute on attracting, assimilating, developing, engaging and retaining key talent. You will drive project management for various HR initiatives, including Workforce Planning, Performance Management, Talent Transformation, Talent Development and Reward & Recognition etc. with country leadership teams.
You will also help streamline priorities, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, monitor progress on leadership commitments, and ensure effective business governance for the International Talent Leader.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support the Strategic Talent Consultant in designing a sustainable and scalable engagement framework for the business unit and take ownership for the delivery across all international locations.
- Provide support to the business leaders and counsellors in the implementation of engagement initiatives in collaboration with country Talent Leaders.
- Responsible for building, developing and managing other members of the talent consulting team, ensuring continued focus on the talent agenda and priorities.
- Anticipate issues and needs across different countries/locations and address these effectively.
- Act as a coach to Talent Leaders in relation to delivering the people strategy agenda.
- Execute innovative HR programs with a central governance approach for all international regions.
- Facilitate change and support the implementation and successful adoption of special projects and initiatives in the business unit, for example: Performance Management, Talent Transformation, Talent Development and Reward exercises ensuring harmonization of practices across international locations.
- Ensure compliance to local regulations and manage risks (e.g., performance management risk) while partnering with country Talent Leaders to ensure alignment with central standards.
- Support the International Talent Leader in driving leadership priorities, preparing strategic updates, coordinating leadership forums, and tracking progress on key deliverables across countries.
- Act as an integration point between multiple functional teams, ensuring clarity, alignment and timely communication on enterprise-wide Talent initiatives.
- Manage executive-level workflows, including preparation for global reviews, leadership meetings and organisation-wide Talent governance rituals.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, ability to develop clear, actionable plans in support of an overall business unit strategy and international Talent roadmap.
- Strong clients focus with the ability to build good relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organisation at all levels including country Talent Leaders and extended leadership teams.
- Strong Employee Relations experience of complex disciplinary, grievance and performance management activities, especially with employees in senior management/leadership level across diverse geographies.
- Motivate team members through effective monitoring, coaching, counselling and providing a positive working environment with an enterprise-wide perspective.
- Develop strong relationships with other Talent Centre of Excellence teams to ensure that centrally developed products and initiatives meet the requirements of the business unit and are deployed consistently across international locations.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and build consensus across diverse, often global, groups while supporting executive-level coordination for the International Talent Leader.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and executive communication skills to effectively support leadership decision-making and operational cadence.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Graduate or a post graduate qualification in a Business or Human Resource discipline is desirable.
- 8 -12 years of proven HR generalist experience (e.g. performance management, employee relations)
- Experience in managing and mentoring teams
