The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced professional to join EY FAAS, with deep expertise across FAAS solutions and a strong focus on engagements related to transactions and technical accounting governance.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading a portfolio of complex, high‑impact client engagements, ensuring the timeliness, quality, and delivery of work in line with EY Global Standards. The role requires overseeing multiple engagement teams, driving technical excellence, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients on transaction‑related accounting matters.
While the Senior Manager will be based out of one of our EY GDS locations globally, the individual will play a key role in supporting EY practices and clients across global markets, collaborating with onshore teams and senior stakeholders. The individual may also be required to travel internationally on short‑term assignments to support client engagements.
Your key responsibilities
Client responsibilities
- Lead consulting engagements focused on the planning and execution of Transactions initiatives (including planning and execution of IPOs, and/or the planning and execution of acquisitions and divestitures), looking at a company’s internal finance and accounting processes and advising clients on solutions to increase deal value / benefits, improve processing efficiency, drive automation or reengineer existing processes to better align with future state target operating models;
- Lead business development initiatives including service offering development and roll-out, proposal development, responding to RFP’s and participating in oral presentations
- Stay informed of changing market conditions and new regulatory developments and their impacts on clients.
- Specialization in our Transactions service offering to provide subject matter expertise and relevant go-to-market activities in this area
- Manage the financial and commercial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders; and
- Build strong internal relationships within our national and global FAAS practice and across EY’s service lines including Advisory, Tax and Assurance.
- Drive innovation by creating an environment that encourages innovation and being a leader in this area by implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements
People Management responsibilities
- Prioritize the development of people through effective coaching, constructive on-the-job feedback and mentoring
- Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment

- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
- Lead/contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training FAAS professionals
- Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
- Understand, follow, and lead by example as it relates to workplace policies and procedures
Skills and attributes for success
- Technical accounting experience in IFRS and US GAAP
- In-depth knowledge in several of:
- IPO readiness assessment and management of activities across the IPO lifecycle. Past participation / involvement in an IPO would be an asset
- Planning and integration of acquisitions across all aspects of Organization / People, Process and Technology including both project management and execution
- Planning and management of disposals across all aspects of Organization / People, Process and Technology including both project management and execution
- Audit or business experience in financial statement close
- Highly developed analytical skills focused on business case
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to think critically and identify creative solutions outside of the box and thrive on new challenges
- Proven track record with a blue-chip consulting firm in the field or significant equivalent industry experience would be an asset
- Experience in leading and delivering program/projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support
- Strong spoken and written English skills
- Leading and driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget
- The ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Dedication to teamwork, people development and leadership, with experience in managing and/or mentoring junior staff and providing direction to team members
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
- A high level of motivation and a self-starting attitude
- A willingness to travel on short notice to meet client needs
Professional experience:
Typical experience may include, whilst not limited to:
- Experience of working in a consulting role in financial accounting and advisory or transaction advisory, or a transformation role in industry,
- Advanced skills and experience with: M&A support, SPAC transactions, IPO readiness support, Carve-out, GAAP conversions etc.
- Hands-on consulting experience at a Big 4, or top tier consulting firm, or leading change programmes in industry, or leading a line function in a finance or controllership environment.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US) or ACCA (UK)
- 10-13 years (post qualification) in Assurance including 5 years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience
- Candidates with prior Big 4/Big 10 experience would be an added advantage
- Exposure to AI, data analytics and visualization tools (an added advantage)
