Position: Digital Twin & IoT Architect – Intelligent Connected Systems

EY Consulting Digital Engineering is looking for a forward-thinking Digital Twin & IoT Architect to lead the design and implementation of next-generation smart systems. With 8–12 years of experience, you will architect solutions that connect the physical and digital worlds—enabling intelligent operations, predictive insights, and scalable digital thread infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to build future-ready digital platforms that transform industries.

The Opportunity

As a Digital Twin & IoT Architect, you’ll be a key force behind building intelligent ecosystems—combining connected device infrastructure, real-time data analytics, and enterprise systems integration. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across engineering, product, and business to define system architectures that drive measurable value and strategic advantage. This role is ideal for engineers who want to step into leadership while remaining hands-on in solutioning and innovation.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver Digital Twin and IoT solutions that provide real-time visibility, simulation, and optimization of physical assets and processes.
  • Design Digital Thread frameworks that integrate product lifecycle systems (PLM, CAD), manufacturing systems (MES), and enterprise platforms (ERP).
  • Lead the development of connected architectures, including edge computing, data ingestion pipelines, and cloud-native services.
  • Translate business outcomes into modular and scalable technical solutions—driving cross-domain alignment and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Lead project estimation, planning, and delivery activities in coordination with product managers and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to develop solution roadmaps, demos, and technical proposals.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.
  • Define and monitor KPIs and metrics for system performance, data quality, and business value delivery.
  • Contribute to GTM (go-to-market) strategies, solution accelerators, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Align each project with EY’s strategic vision and identify opportunities for solution reusability, innovation, and platform thinking.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communicator with the ability to articulate technical solutions to business and engineering audiences.
  • Proactive leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on collaboration, growth, and innovation.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for solving real-world problems using emerging technology.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 8–12 years of professional experience, with significant exposure to IoT architecture, smart systems, or connected platforms.
  • Proven experience in architecting and implementing Digital Twin solutions (simulation, monitoring, visualization).
  • Knowledge of Digital Thread strategies and experience integrating systems like PLM, MES, ERP.
  • Familiarity with IoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, ThingWorx, MindSphere, etc.) and protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus).
  • Proficiency in data processing, microservices, and cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience working with edge computing, real-time analytics, and system-level telemetry.
  • Exposure to AI/ML for predictive maintenance, quality control, or operational intelligence use cases.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Experience delivering solutions in sectors like manufacturing, energy, industrials, or automotive.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, digital factory environments, and OT/IT integration.
  • Certifications in cloud architecture, IoT platforms, or systems engineering frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, DevOps).
  • A track record of innovation and thought leadership in smart connected product ecosystems.

What Working at EY Offers
