Senior Associate – Conflicts Management - Risk Management Services

The role of the Conflicts sub-function in RMS is to identify and address potential conflicts of interest of new or existing engagements.

 

The opportunity

This opportunity will enable the professional to help the firm and its client serving professionals in making right decisions with respect to engagement acceptance, in sync with EY internal compliance policies and regulatory framework. This role will assist in evaluating the risks associated with each engagement and suggest ways to mitigate them. As a conflicts management professional, this opportunity enables to assesses internal EY relationships with the parties involved and provides safeguards to address the threat of potential conflict to an acceptable level. The process also identifies certain matters that need to be considered, or complied with, from an independence perspective, as well as other professional ethical standards and legal or regulatory requirements.

 

The candidate should be comfortable working in a quick turnaround, an unstructured & complex environment requiring out of box thinking, logical reasoning, sound communication skills and ability to make quick decisions. The candidate should be able to continuously add value to assigned processes and develop solutions for situations that may not have been previously documented.

The candidate should be flexible for rotational shifts (including night shifts - applicable only for Kochi centre)

 

Your key responsibilities

Technical expertise

  • Develop an understanding of EY Global / local conflict policies and apply them to real situations.
  • Understand the firm structure, business strategies, service lines of the firm.
  • Build relationships inside and outside of the RMS Conflicts Management team.
  • Act as a quality controller for conflict checks within the Conflicts Management team.
  • Develop technical knowledge on identifying and addressing conflicts of interest at EY.
  • Identifying the training needs of team members and facilitating the required trainings.
  • Acting as a mentor for assigned individuals and being responsible for performance management.
  • Providing timely feedback for enhancing overall performance of the team.

Client Management

  • Facilitate regular connects with the stakeholders to ensure alignment on the process, address concerns promptly, and foster a collaborative relationship for successful service delivery.
  • Proactively manage client expectations by establishing a strong client management framework.
  • Address and resolve any service delivery issues or escalations.

 

People Management

  • Oversee team performance, including goal setting, performance assessment, and providing feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to workflow protocols and tools.
  • Coordinate training schedules for both new and existing team members.
  • Mentor and coach team members for professional growth and recommend training to address any skill gaps.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Post-graduate degree from a reputed institute
  • Preferably an International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management or similar.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the same domain or related profile
  • Candidates with exposure to handling international customers/client interaction would be preferred.
  • Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills in English
  • Proficient in MS Office

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment
  • Flexibility to work in rotational shifts

 

Technologies and Tools

  • Experience in MS office suites like Microsoft 365, MS excel, PowerPoint
  • Business analytics tool like Power-BI would be preferred.
