Job Title: Assistant Manager
Job Summary:
Global Delivery Services (GDS) plays a vital role in supporting EY’s various service lines and business operations across the world. GDS Risk Management Services (RMS) majorly operates from 2 cities in India (Gurgaon & Kochi). Risk Management team at EY plays an important role in managing the internal risks of the firm associated with accepting a new client or an engagement or risks associated with any of our on-going audit / non audit engagement. Formed in the Year 2007, the Risk Management team is growing rapidly as a Center of Excellence for all standardized quality / compliance related activities that can be efficiently undertaken from Global Delivery Services location.
Strategic Projects - The team supports Global Risk Management in rapidly deploying professionals on ad-hoc, outcome-based projects as well as acts as an incubator for new RM services. It is an extension of the onshore RM teams and helps in streamlining existing processes, onboarding new opportunities, designing end-to-end processes, and managing specific project activities.
Data Protection - With the implementation of the European General Data Protection Regulation (and its implementation into UK legislation via the UK Data Protection Act 2018), data protection is an area of increased risk for the firm. The law has been modernised and strengthened and the penalties have increased and, as a result, the central DP team is looking to build up its compliance function. The imminent departure of the UK from the European Union also has data protection implications for the firm. The main purpose of the role is to work with the Data Protection team to ensure the firm’s compliance with applicable privacy legislation by performing and managing the front-line compliance work.
Knowledge, skills and experience requirements:
- Experience in quality, risk management and compliance processes (data protection monitoring, and compliance processes preferred).
- Familiarity and experience with the application of data protection laws.
- Performing and managing the front-line data protection compliance work, such as: data subject requests, potential data incidents, requests to access data, privacy impact assessments and compliance ‘health-checks’.
- Contributing and leading on the development and deployment of monitoring and compliance processes.
- Ability to provide clear and practical advice and support with a high degree of professionalism.
- Acts as a liaison between the client teams, other members of the RMS team, and various functional areas within the firm.
- Formulates answers to client questions.
- Manages tasks and activities in a timely manner and is responsible for specific outcomes.
- Uses analytical and project management methodology and tools.
- Learns about the firm structure, business strategies, service lines, and people of the firm.
- Builds a network of people within RMS and across the firm.
- Plans and organizes own work and keeps others informed of status and activities.
- Individual is expected to apply judgment to initial consultations and / or submission review and rapidly develop understanding of key requirements of firm and regulator’s RMS rules and policies.
- Individual will reference existing policies; however, due to frequency of unique situations will need to research issues and, through situation specific inquiries, propose solutions to issues.

Qualifications, certifications and education requirements:
- MBA from a reputed institute or a post-graduate degree.
- 8+ years of prior experience in quality, risk management and compliance processes, with strong data protection knowledge (data protection monitoring, and compliance processes preferred).
- Candidates with exposure to handling international customers / client interaction would be preferred.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills in English.
- Proficient with MS Office (specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and Power BI.
- Proficient in team management - experience in handling team issues and providing appropriate solutions to maintain high team morale.
- Good research skills and knowledge of databases.
