The Opportunity

We are looking to grow our Quality and Risk Management team with two Tax Quality Assistants who can deliver high quality support to our client teams. These roles are based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, ane flexible working is encouraged.

 

The Quality and Risk Management (QR&M) team at EY offers an exciting opportunity to develop risk and project management skills early on in your career. As part of a key central team, you will be involved in the day-to-day management of relationships and support client engagement teams in the delivery of our services across a broad range of issues including tax compliance and advisory. You will work closely with key stakeholders such as EY’s General Legal Counsel, Independence, and Financial Crime team to ensure compliance with EY’s Tax Quality and Risk Management policies, as well as external Regulatory requirements at a global and local level.

 About You

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent. 
  • Project management skills, ability to plan and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills and keen to develop further.
  • Enthusiastic and able to embrace new ways of working.
  • Team player, ability to integrate with new teams quickly.
  • Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality outputs.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically.
  • Excellent communicator in range of situations both written and oral.
  • Excellent numerical and IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office and Excel.

 

 Your key responsibilities 

  • Coordination of the Tax Quality Review process – a rolling programme that is part of our firmwide quality review agenda, which reviews all our partners on a regular basis for their compliance with our Q&RM processes.
  • Delivering QR&M training to engagement teams.
  • Reviewing and updating EY’s Tax engagement contracts for clients.
  • Ensuring Partner compliance with EY’s CPD Policy, analysis and reporting of completion of Tax Quality training.
  • Teaming effectively with EY’s Global Deliver Service, the wider Tax Quality Team, our Ireland and Financial Services Organisation colleagues and the Global team.
  • Assisting the team with day-to-day risk management queries from the business, including on risk management tools such as the Global Independence System and the EY client and engagement acceptance and tool.  
  • Project management across several Tax Quality workstreams.
