Working closely with our industry groups and leveraging the EY brand as independent, trusted advisors, we provide our high-profile clients with a range of services. We are seeking an enthusiastic L1 Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security events, performing initial triage, and escalating incidents as required. This role serves as the first line of defense against cyber threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational systems and data.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts from Security analytics and next gen AI driven threat detection platforms and provide data driven responses.
- Perform initial investigation and triage of security incidents, verifying alerts for false positives and identifying potential threats.
- Escalate incidents to L2/L3 analysts or other relevant teams in line with incident response procedures.
- Document findings, maintain incident tickets, and update case tracking systems accurately.
- Support in the reporting of detected incidents, vulnerabilities, and trends.
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Assist in creating and maintaining security knowledge base articles and playbooks.
- Stay updated with emerging cyber threats, common attack methods, and security best practices.
- Basic troubleshooting for the threat detection.
- Other cognate duties.
To qualify, candidates must have:
- A related bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or any STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
- Approximately 0-2 of experience in related field will be an advantage.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Microsoft SC-200, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of networking, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM tools, and malware threats will be an advantage Strong understanding of HR processes and data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in 24/7 shift environments.
Ideally, you will also have
- Results orientated and performance-driven approach.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Hands-on exposure to SIEM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) is a plus.
