The opportunity

Technology Consulting business is a fast-growing sub-service line within EY’s Consulting service line. A dynamic group focused on providing high-value independent, trusted advice to clients, with a focus on transformation programmes.

The Digital Business Advisory Practice collaborates with clients in creating value and delivering world-class Digital, Data & IT capabilities to support business needs. Working closely with our industry groups and leveraging the EY brand as independent, trusted advisors, we provide our high-profile clients with a range of services including:

• Digital, Data & IT Strategy and Sourcing Advisory.
• Operating Model Design, Functions Transformation & Governance.
• Enterprise Architecture Services.
• Digital Transformation (including Robotics (RPA), Cloud, Analytics, Cyber, Mobility, social media, Internet of Things, etc.).
• Digital Portfolio, Program and Project Management.

We are looking for an experienced application and integration architect that has worked in a Digital Business Advisory space with large, recognised businesses in Mauritius / abroad.

Regular travel, locally and internationally, may be needed as part of the day-to-day client work, and at times work from the client site or other EY offices. Our hybrid working practices along with flexible working arrangements will be in place to help you manage the requirement for travel and achieve a lifestyle balance.

This is a leadership role guiding clients on their application, integration and cloud roadmaps as they continue on their digital journey. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our clients’ team and we’ll look to you to provide them with a unique business perspective on how they must continue to innovate, mitigate risk, and remain competitive with digital capability and technologies in this ever-changing industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you’ll spend most of your time managing client engagement teams, working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services, and managing business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts.

• Strategic Client Engagement: Build trusted advisor relationships with clients by providing strategic consultation on digital transformation with a specific emphasis on optimizing enterprise application landscapes and integration architectures.
• Innovative Digital Services: Deliver innovative services that focus on the design, implementation, and optimization of application and integration architectures to ensure seamless enterprise operations and enhanced ROI from technology investments.
• Create business and enterprise architecture models: that help clients to realise their strategy and vision with technology. Lead the creation of blueprints and roadmaps for complex and large technology environments.
• Business Development: Drive growth and profitability by identifying opportunities not only in application and integration solutions but also by cross-selling within the broader digital, data, and IT portfolios.
• Leadership in Practice Development: Spearhead the development of EY's practices in application and integration architecture, ensuring that our teams are at the forefront of industry standards and innovations.
• Expertise in Technology Trends: Position yourself as a thought leader in application and integration architecture, influencing the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. Represent EY in leading technology conferences and forums, highlighting our expertise in these areas.
• Client Technology Strategies: Proactively develop and refine clients' technology strategies focusing on application and integration needs, ensuring these align with their broader business objectives and digital transformation goals.
• Tailored Industry Solutions: Customize and adapt EY's technology offerings to meet specific industry demands, with a focus on application and integration challenges faced by key accounts.
• Investment and Implementation Guidance: Consult with clients on strategic investments in technology, emphasizing applications and integrations, and lead the transformation projects to successful outcomes.
• Cost-Effective Architectural Solutions: Advise on cost management within digital, data, and IT frameworks, particularly through rationalizing and optimizing application and integration portfolios.
• Roadmap and Architecture Development: Develop comprehensive strategies and architectures for clients, focusing on creating robust, scalable, and integrated solutions that drive business value.
• Enhancement of Digital Maturity: Aid clients in assessing their digital maturity with a focus on application and integration architecture, helping them to identify areas for improvement and investment.
• End-to-End Solution Architecture: Design and architect end-to-end digital solutions that incorporate advanced application and integration frameworks, tailored to meet client needs and enhance their operational efficiency.
• Collaborative Engagement Delivery: Work collaboratively with various EY groups specializing in digital, data, cyber, and cloud to deliver holistic and integrated digital solutions.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field such as Business with Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems.
• Consulting Experience: Previous role in consulting within Digital/IT/data architecture, with a focus on application and integration architecture.
• Proven Engagement Success: Proven success in delivering large-scale engagements in the realm of Digital Business Advisory, particularly within application and integration architecture.
• Team Leadership: Experience in building, leading, and coaching teams towards achieving strategic business objectives in technology projects.
• Strategic Leadership Skills: Strong capabilities in strategic leadership, including excellent decision-making, planning, and organizational skills.
• Framework and Methodology Expertise: Proficient in using various frameworks and methodologies to evaluate and recommend migration strategies, and digital platform options, focusing on integration architecture.
• Customer Engagement: Exceptional skills in engaging customers, especially at the C-level, effectively pivoting discussions between technology and business/commercial interests to underline the business value of digital initiatives in application and integration.
• IT and Architectural Expertise: Experience in IT strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Agile methodologies, Cloud computing, and specifically Integration Architecture within digital transformation contexts.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities tailored for senior audiences, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and strategies.
• Leadership in Client Interactions: Confidence in leading meetings with various client stakeholders, including sponsors, management teams, and individual contributors, with a focus on application and integration architecture strategies.
• Integration expertise: Have previously designed and implemented APIs, deep understanding of protocols like REST, SOAP, HTTPs, UDP etc
• Knowledge of front-end technologies: Proficient with JavaScript, Node.js, Angular.js, Backbone.
• Experience working with middleware products like TIBCO, Kafka, MuleSoft, etc.
• Experience with developing schemas like XSD, JSON, AVRO, etc. and related data structures.
• Experience implementing security protocols like OAuth, SAML, SSO, Mobile Device Cassandra DB etc.
• Experience with source control (e.g. GIT, MAVEN, VSS etc.) and continuous integration and continuous development and DevOps.

Ideally, you will also have

• Performance-Driven Mindset: Proven results-oriented approach, specifically in application and integration architecture projects.
• Architecture Certifications: Possession of relevant architecture certifications, with a strong preference for those specializing in application and integration architecture.
• Additional Certifications: Certifications in digital, governance, or cyber aspects are beneficial, particularly those that enhance the understanding of security and compliance in integration architecture.
• Change Management Experience: Experience managing governance and cultural change in the context of digital transformation projects, with a focus on integrating modern technologies and reshaping business processes.
• Leadership Experience: Proven record of leading a team of 10 or more, or managing multiple smaller teams, specifically in projects involving application and integration architecture.
• Inspirational Team Leadership: Experience in leading and motivating teams, either directly or indirectly, emphasizing the adoption of key technologies and best practices in application and integration architecture.
• Global and Diverse Engagement: Extensive engagement experience with enterprise customers across various countries and industries, demonstrating an ability to manage and deliver complex application and integration architecture solutions in a broad regional responsibility context.
