The opportunity

 

EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution team focuses on addressing CXO’s key agenda, covering strategy creation, operational optimization and deal execution.

 

This high-performing team has grown rapidly over the last two years and has experienced hires joining from top management consulting firms. We are very active in the market and have deep relationships with Private Equity (PE) clients and Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) as well as their portfolio companies (portcos). We are looking to leverage on this relationship by further expanding our offerings in operational due diligence and value creation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Supporting Partners in the Strategy & Execution practice in driving business development efforts, along with sector leads. This will involve leading desk-top research on PE/SWF portcos in Singapore and the Asean region and formulating hypotheses and points of views, developing relationships with PE/SWF clients and portco management teams, developing client proposals and pitches, supporting with commercial negotiations, helping to organise client events e.g. EY-Parthenon seminars, roundtables and panel discussions and demonstrating thought leadership e.g. publishing articles and participating in podcasts
  • Delivering CXO‑level strategy and transformation mandates: Lead pre-deal engagements (buy-side and sell-side) for PE/SWF clients, including operational due diligence, cost reduction review, synergy review and carve-out diligence as well as work with portco management teams in an advisory capacity during the sign-to-close and post-close periods in developing and implementing value creation plans involving cost take‑out and enterprise‑wide transformation programs, target operating models, merger integration and delivery of carve-outs
  • Independently leading engagements end to end, with responsibilities spanning from scoping, planning the engagement, structuring the team, driving execution, leading stakeholder engagements and managing engagement economics.
  • Mentoring junior team members to drive client impact and support their professional growth.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong problem-solving skills and high degree of comfort with quantitative analysis
  • Depending on the nature of the portco and scope of work, being able to work across different sectors (mainly Consumer products, Retail, Healthcare & Life Sciences, TMT, Industrials, Automotive and Energy) and functional competencies (manufacturing, logistics, procurement, organisation design, finance transformation etc) by bringing in the relevant sector and functional experts both from within EY-Parthenon as well as externally
  • Familiarity with using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiency and productivity of engagement delivery (Note: EY-Parthenon has developed its own AI tools/agents and appropriate training will be provided)
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication, ensuring communications are logical, persuasive and tailored to the audience
  • Ability to develop strong and lasting client as well as internal relationships with other sub-service line Partner and Directors within EY-Parthenon
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with commitment to deliver high quality work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and cope with loosely defined situations
  • Flexibility to travel to within and outside Singapore (mostly ASEAN) based on engagement needs

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree (MBA) and/or other relevant professional qualifications, such as Lean Six Sigma certification, will be considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with Big 4, top strategy or restructuring firms
  • Work experience in strategy, operations, or large-scale business transformation programs
  • Experience of working across many of the following sectors would be an added advantage: Consumer products, Retail, Healthcare & Life Sciences, TMT, Industrials, Automotive and Energy
