Technology Consulting (SAP) – SAP Business Architect – Process Excellence (Signavio) & Delivery Governance (Cloud ALM) Lead

General Information

Location: Dublin/Cork

Business Area: SAP

Contract Type: Full-Time – Permanent

Our SAP practice is experiencing an exciting period of growth. We are interested in hearing from experienced SAP professionals who would like to take their careers to the next level.

EY's global SAP practice totals more than 26,000+ dedicated SAP professionals in over 150 countries and we are investing heavily in S/4HANA, SAP Signavio, SAP Business Technology Platform, and modern application lifecycle management capabilities such as SAP Cloud ALM. We help our clients tackle their most difficult challenges by combining business-led architecture with data-driven process insights, enabling transformation and delivering measurable value.

You will become a key member of our SAP team, responsible for leading our SAP Business Architecture & Process Transformation capability and for shaping how we enable, govern, and scale the use of SAP Signavio and SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) across client engagements. You will drive practice growth through pre-sales and proposition development, while also leading delivery on programmes and projects—working with senior stakeholders to define business capabilities, drive process excellence, establish transparent delivery governance, and build reusable assets, standards, and communities that help teams deliver measurable value consistently.

Tools in scope: SAP Signavio, SAP Cloud ALM (CALM). Nice-to-have: SAP LeanIX.

Key Responsibilities

Business Architecture & Process Transformation

  • Define and maintain the business architecture (capabilities, value streams, processes, information) aligned to transformation strategy and operating model.
  • Lead process discovery, standardisation, and harmonisation across global/regional teams, balancing fit-to-standard with pragmatic business outcomes.
  • Translate business goals into measurable process KPIs (cycle time, touchless rate, compliance, cost) and embed continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate executive workshops to drive clarity on scope, priorities, and trade-offs, using evidence from process and performance insights.

SAP Signavio Tooling Leadership (Process Intelligence & Transformation)

  • Own the SAP Signavio approach for the practice and programmes/engagements, including defining the service offering, standard use cases (Process Insights, Process Intelligence, Process Manager, Journey Modeler), delivery patterns, and integration touchpoints aligned to SAP transformation methods.
  • Lead the set-up, configuration, and governance of Signavio workspaces, collaboration standards, modelling conventions, and approval workflows.
  • Drive process mining use cases (baseline, root-cause, value case tracking) and ensure results are translated into actionable backlog items and design decisions.
  • Establish and run a process repository that supports design, test, training, controls, and audit needs (single source of truth for processes).
  • Coach process owners, SMEs, and analysts on process modelling and interpretation of insights, enabling self-service and adoption at scale.

SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) Tooling Lead

  • Lead the SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) capability for the practice and programmes / engagements, including defining the reference configuration, ways of working, and adoption approach across the delivery lifecycle (requirements/user stories, test management, defect/issue management, deployment, and operations readiness).
  • Define and implement ALM governance (templates, naming standards, status models, permissions, reporting, and controls) to ensure consistent delivery across workstreams and vendors.
  • Design and run portfolio / engagement-level reporting and dashboards (scope, progress, testing, defects, releases) for leadership and governance forums, and define standard reporting packs that can be reused across engagements.
  • Integrate CALM with delivery methods and tools (e.g., SAP Activate, DevOps toolchains where applicable) and align to ITSM/operations processes.
  • Support operational monitoring set-up and handover, including integration & job monitoring, alerting, and runbook readiness in collaboration with technical teams.

Governance, Design Assurance & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a core member of programme governance (e.g., Design Authority / Process Council), ensuring business architecture and process design decisions are traceable, approved, and auditable.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to manage scope, change impact, and benefits tracking, and to maintain alignment between process, solution design, and delivery plans.
  • Provide clear guidance to senior stakeholders, explaining insights, trade-offs, and recommendations in business terms, with a focus on value and risk.
  • Support pre-sales, bids, and discovery activities by shaping business architecture approaches, tooling options, and delivery estimates where required.

Delivery Enablement & Practice Development

  • Define and deliver tooling enablement (training, coaching, playbooks, accelerators) for Signavio and CALM across EY and client teams.
  • Develop reusable assets (process modelling standards, KPI libraries, value-case templates, CALM configurations) that accelerate delivery and improve quality.
  • Mentor team members, supporting their growth in business architecture, process mining, and ALM disciplines.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong ability to connect strategy, process, data, and technology to drive business outcomes.
  • Proven facilitation skills with senior stakeholders; able to build alignment and momentum in complex environments.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity; able to structure problems, define governance, and drive decisions.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret process insights and translate them into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations, both written and oral.
  • Client focused and commercially aware; able to manage expectations and deliver value.
  • Team player; ability to integrate and build effective relationships at all levels, including global/virtual teams.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A third level qualification in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience leading SAP-enabled transformation programmes, with a strong focus on business/process architecture, process transformation, and governance.
  • 12+ years’ experience in SAP Business Architecture and process-led transformation (capability modelling, value streams, fit-to-standard, and business/design governance) in consulting and/or complex enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience or extensive knowledge leading SAP Signavio (process modelling and/or process mining) in a programme or enterprise environment, with the ability to define standards and enable adoption at scale.
  • Hands-on experience or extensive knowledge leading SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) configuration and adoption (or equivalent ALM tooling, with the ability to transition to CALM), including governance, reporting, and lifecycle controls.
  • Strong understanding of SAP Activate delivery approaches and the end-to-end lifecycle across design, build, test, deploy, and hypercare.
  • Experience working with S/4HANA process design and fit-to-standard, and with multi-workstream/global delivery models.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without formal authority.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • SAP certifications in Signavio, S/4HANA, SAP Activate, or related areas.
  • Exposure to SAP LeanIX (e.g., application portfolio, capability mapping, and roadmap alignment) in the context of SAP-enabled transformation programmes.
  • Experience defining process performance measurement using SAP standard content (e.g., SAP Process Insights) and/or analytics platforms.
  • Experience integrating ALM with DevOps/CI-CD practices and aligning delivery controls to risk and compliance requirements.
  • Prior consulting experience, including contribution to proposals, estimates, and client relationship development.

What we look for

  • Someone interested in joining a dynamic team who wants to develop their SAP delivery and business transformation expertise, with a passion for process excellence and measurable value.
  • A team player with strength in coaching and developing others, building communities of practice around process and tooling.
  • A good work ethic and openness to new challenges in a fast-moving, technology enabled environment.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to develop business opportunities in order to generate growth within the firm.
  • Excellent communicator with an aptitude to build and manage key client relationships and internal networks.
