The team and the opportunity
At EY, our highly talented and motivated Digital Assurance and Quality Engineering team specializes in Data Transformation and Testing Services for our clients. We offer a comprehensive range of functional testing services, including requirements-based testing, integration testing, system testing, regression testing, and acceptance testing. Through agile QA and testing practices, we enable faster time-to-market, flexibility, and adaptability to changing requirements, along with automation and continuous testing to drive improved efficiencies. Our expertise extends to technical testing services such as test automation, API and microservices testing, mobile device testing, performance testing, and ETL testing, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities
As a Automation Test Manager within the Digital Assurance and Quality Engineering Team at EY, you will play a vital role as an essential part of our multi-disciplinary and high-performing team. This team is composed of individuals with extensive experience in helping various public and private organizations solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Your role will involve leading the testing efforts in one or more of the following areas
• You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of IT Projects through methodologies such as Agile Scrum/Kanban and traditional Waterfall (when required), leveraging your domain knowledge and sector experience
• Create high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems
• Understand all our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients.
• Maintains focus so that projects deliver on key priorities and dependencies.
• Build strong internal relationships within Assurance and across the other service lines we work with and support.
• Be responsible for your own self-development, and maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
• Actively contribute to EY’s Quality Assurance & Testing Community of practice
• Understand all our consulting service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients and be able to build meaningful external relationships with our clients and internal relationships across service lines.
• Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have:
• A strong academic record including a third level degree, preferably in a business or IT related discipline, from a recognised third level institution
• QA accreditation (ISTQB Foundation, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer or a similar IT accreditation from a recognised third level institution or accreditation body)
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in full time test automation role and at least 2 years in a Test Automation Manager role.
• Experience of one or more technology areas including but not limited to ERP, CRM. Digital Workplace, CX, Cloud Migration and/or integrations, Data & Analytics, RPA, Emerging Tech, IoT, Blockchain and AI enabled solutions.
• Experience in Agile/ DevOps and/or traditional environments
• Identify the appropriate scope of test automation on a per project/system/technology basis.
• Incorporate best practice into the automation testing and governance process.
• Develops, modifies, and executes automation test strategies and plans.
• Demonstrate experience of scripting skills with 1 or more languages (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript)
• Proven experience in building and implementing test frameworks using tooling such as Selenium, Cypress, Eggplant or UFT.
• Experience using Cucumber BDD frameworks
• Experience in Mobile Test Automation using Appium
• Experience in webservice / API testing
• Develop, execute, and debug automated tests
• Experience using version control software e.g. GIT, Bitbucket
• Experience of using Test Management tools including Issue tracking tools.
• Manage the allocation of project work and resources to ensure all projects meet the agreed test timelines
• Knowledge of Testing Standards and approaches.
• Proven experience in coaching and mentoring automation test teams.
• Good time management and organizational skills to meet deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills – tailoring communications to suit a mix of audiences
• Experience leveraging AI-powered testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, GenAI-assisted test automation solutions) to improve test design, automation development and productivity.
• Understanding of AI/Generative AI testing concepts, including validation of AI-generated outputs, prompt testing, and Responsible AI considerations such as bias, security and privacy.
• Experience implementing intelligent test automation practices, including AI-assisted test case generation, self-healing automation frameworks and risk-based test optimisation
Ideally, you will also have:
• Experience in one or more of our focus industries including Power & Utilities, Financial Services, Government & Public Sector, Life Sciences, Consumer Goods, Tech and Media, Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0
• Have structured approach to problem solving and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently managing your own workload with an attention to detail
• Ability to quickly research and learn new technologies, tools, and techniques.
