The Role

  • The role supports the UKI FS business on the largest pursuits across Ireland and the UK
  • Collaboration with Pursuit Strategist/Pursuit Leader to define creative aspects throughout the lifecycle of a pursuit
  • Leading all creative elements, facilitating sessions, developing the design community, driving innovation, and bringing impact throughout the pursuit

We’re looking for an outstanding Senior Creative Designer to join our fast-growing and in-demand team strategic pursuit specialists, producing creative, comprehensive layout and design – including creative development of ideas for print or electronic documents. The candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and a creative project manager who works effectively in a team environment.

Reporting Line:  UKI FS Creative Design Lead 

Key Responsibilities

Create

  • Creates engaging, client focused digital workshop materials (in person and hybrid)
  • Develops conceptual design and innovative ideas for client deliverables
  • Effectively creates comprehensive layouts and design with strong typography and appropriate use of colour, images and negative space, allowing for readability of content
  • Develops concepts for packaging design and carries through with the construction of ideas
  • Effectively utilises key Adobe Creative Suite software to create print and digital solutions
  • Relates design work to the client’s business needs

 

Brand ambassador

  • Understands, implements, and adheres to the quality standards and procedures established by EY standards and brand guidelines
  • Delivers design coaching for the wider business to enhance client deliverables, leveraging the team’s Designing Winning Proposals templates through SharePoint site and leads training via in-person and virtual sessions

 

Solve

  • Maintains awareness of “state-of-the-art” techniques, equipment, best practices and developments within the design community
  • Proficient and remains up to date with graphic software tools and equipment required of the position, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Acts as a pursuit specialist to provide flexibility and support to the wider team during peak times

 

Influence

  • Influences clients (senior Partners and leadership) to choose an effective design and deliverable solution within budget requirements
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences including senior management
  • Pursues and shares best practices within the department and among creative team
  • Guide, coach and develop other designers into pursuit specialists with design expertise
  • Manages the GDS design arm of the team, leads their learning and development, manages workflow co-ordination to aligned utilization targets, project manager to costing chargeback and recruitment of GDS team
  • Supports UKI FS account teams by collaborating on pursuits and post-pursuit leaves skills and templates for continued growth
  • Creates engaging WaveSpace events that drive collaboration and innovation to enhance client centricity
  • Plays a leading role in the onboarding of all roles within the UKI FS DA team, making sure they are armed to succeed
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with other pursuit teams including the UKI Non-FS Deal Activation team

 

Manage:

  • Negotiates project deadlines to create timelines, determines project scope to define cost estimates, and schedule changes for client approval
  • Create timelines and cost estimates for client approval
  • Manage vendor relationships, and works with external vendors regarding the coordination of production for external products and services
  • Utilises the internal procedures to ensure all time and materials are billed correctly, and project instructions and client interactions are fully documented

 

Skills and attributes for success

You will have good knowledge and experience of the following:

  • Excellent project management skills managing client deliverables/presentations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills – working closely with Senior Partners
  • Excellent work ethic and the ability to thrive in a time-sensitive environment
  • Advanced skill in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Word and Excel and other digital design software
  • Good concept and design skills with strong portfolio
  • Experience in print and digital production, both in-house and with external vendors
  • Speed and accuracy are crucial to this position
  • Excellent understanding of Business Development and Pursuit Management
  • Innovative mindset – bringing new ideas and software (subject to infosec sign-off) 

 

Other requirements 

  • May be asked/required to travel to work at an actual client site or other locations as part of a project team providing design, conceptualisation and solutions pertaining to deliverables.

Education

  • To qualify for the role, you must have bachelor’s degree in graphic design, plus 8+ years Pursuit experience on large FS bids
