We are currently seeking a nearly qualified, financial accountant to work alongside talented professionals from a wide range of backgrounds within the finance controlling accounting department.  You will be part of a culture that is results-focused, collaborative and inspirational.  We are seeking an individual who has a proactive approach to their responsibilities as this is a key role in the Treasury area of Controlling.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this varied role involves treasury responsibilities for the Irish firm.

 

Key tasks will include;

 

  • Month end close activities to include journal processing for all bank postings.
  • Responsibility for Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis to include Bank Reconciliations.   Work with AP and AR teams to clear related Bank reconciliations transactions to eliminate non accountability of costs in P&L.  Regular engagement with GDS team to ensure all GDS owned reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support the finance manager & senior finance manager on all treasury related matters including reporting of daily bank balances and weekly cash reporting to group offices.
  • Assisting on timely cash flow preparation with continuous inputs to keep all cashflow records updated
  • Working with the Finance Manager to ensure policies, processes and technical judgments are documented and accessible to the finance function.
  • Ad Hoc requirements and projects as requested, this role lends itself to get further involved in other areas of the Controlling department.

 

 

The ideal candidate will have/be

 

  • Nearly/newly qualified (CIMA, CAI, ACCA, other relevant qualification)
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities, delivering to tight deadlines through the consideration of importance and level of urgency
  • An analytical mind-set with strong numeracy skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and a relentless attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • Strong knowledge of Excel - must be able to manipulate spreadsheets including sort, sum, subtotalling and creating pivots tables. Must be proficient in the use of Excel and be willing to look at ways of using Excel to improve existing manual processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop strong relationships across the finance team by demonstrating a strong team player role and working to assist key stakeholders and senior management
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
