The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join the in-house recruitment team at EY, finding future talent that will enable us to grow as a business. As the Senior Manager for Student Recruitment, you will take a lead role in setting a strategy that meets hiring needs of our business stakeholders, across our student recruitment portfolio of programmes and operations; that includes work experience, graduate and internship roles.
Engagement with senior stakeholders is key to understand specific business needs and develop the Student Recruitment strategy. You will hold regular meetings with business contacts to update on strategic direction; performance vs target to date and as well as deal with any internal issues that may arise.
We manage high volumes of applications and hires annually. As a result, you will lead the assessment and selection process for candidates from application to hire while ensuring we leave a lasting impression both externally with our candidates, and internally with our business stakeholders.
You will work closely with brand representatives to build on our brand identity and messaging across the whole student journey and recruitment process.
In addition, you will be required to assume team management responsibilities such as counselling and coaching as well as line management of our student recruitment team.
This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong understanding of the higher education landscape, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in student recruitment.

Your key responsibilities
Reporting to our Director of Talent Acquisition, your key responsibilities will include.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to meet our student recruitment headcount goals.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to inform recruitment strategies.
- Accountable for the operational delivery and oversight of all hiring requirements, continually monitoring progress and ROI throughout the season, updating key stakeholders across the service lines and student recruitment throughout.
- Plan, launch and manage the key student milestone delivery plan throughout the year, application windows, recruitment sprints, and selection days across Service Lines.
- Ensuring the proactive delivery of candidate pipelines and assessment activities.
- Oversee and manage the student recruitment budget.
- Development and nurturing of inclusive talent pools and talent pathways that align to service line overall diversity recruitment strategy
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and institutional policies related to student recruitment.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the student recruitment team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a supportive, collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
Business partnering
- Partner with the business to build and maintain strong relationships to help drive the student recruitment programmes.
- Work closely with service line leaders to understand their staffing needs and demand plans.
- Continually provide guidance on student recruitment best practices.
- Collaborate with the Student Recruitment and Talent team to ensure alignment with overall student recruitment goals.
Branding and University relations:
- Driving and executing strategic university engagement plans, campus recruitment activities, and building strong partnerships with educational institutions.
- Your team will play a key role in enhancing the organization's employer brand on campuses and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams to oversee the development of marketing materials and campaigns to promote programs and initiatives.
- Optimize our careers page and social media channels to effectively attract top talent.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyse recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives.
- Ensure delivery of presentations for senior leadership on recruitment performance and trends.
- Ensure key business stakeholders are kept informed of any key issues developing in the assessment and selection process, fill rate and other key metrics specific to their business needs.
- Enable the team to report on MI to their business stakeholders in the most time efficient way, allowing them to become trusted business advisors by being knowledgeable and in control of the story the data tells us.
Technology
- Understand how technology can support student recruitment campaigns and initiative, keeping informed of available tools to drive improvements in our recruiting processes.
- Ensure technology within the assessment and selection process meets the future needs of the business, and enables us to select the best and most diverse talent from our applications.
- Work towards a best-in-class assessment process with innovative technological solutions to engage candidates in their assessment journey, helping EY stand out as the employer of choice.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in student recruitment, demonstrating a track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement to enhance the assessment and selection process.
- Skilled in leading and developing high-performing student recruitment teams.
- In-depth understanding of the higher education landscape and current recruitment trends.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing a diverse portfolio of programs, with robust project management abilities to ensure operational excellence and effective service delivery.
- Expertise in developing branding and attraction strategies targeted at student audiences, with a focus on driving engagement.
- Proficient in change management and effective communication skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and exercise sound judgment under time constraints.
- Skilled in refining and validating data, extracting key insights, and presenting compelling narratives.
- Proficient in Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs) and experienced in using analytics dashboards such as Power BI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
