EY is looking for an exceptional editorial leader to join its creative and high-performing Markets team as Head of Thought Leadership. The role leads the development of first-class content across multiple formats, including video, infographics, long-form articles, blogs and reports in order to ensure optimal delivery of messages to target audiences across multiple channels. The role will play a key role with building our brand, communicating our unique insights and driving the profile of our partner group within the market.

We are searching for a resourceful, motivated and enthusiastic individual, who will play a key role in the delivery of an enhanced Thought Leadership programme. They will be passionate about delivering strategically focused content using unique insights and creative delivery of compelling content for a leading Global firm.

 

The opportunity

 

Reporting to the Marketing Director and with two direct reports to support the success of the role, the Head of Thought Leadership will own the development, oversight, and implementation of the firm’s integrated editorial content strategy. They are responsible for the creation of the editorial structure that ensures that all content across the business is integrated and aligned to support business objectives.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

Research and insights: The development of high-profile, insight-led reports. The candidate must have experience in the end-to-end development of similar research-led projects, specifically the commissioning of primary research, data analysis, narrative development and report creation.

People management: The thought leadership team is a diverse team with complementary skillsets. Experience managing a high-performing hybrid team in multiple locations is preferred.

Stakeholder management: This role operates in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, making exceptional stakeholder management skills essential. The candidate will have experience in managing and coaching senior clients/internal stakeholders.

Measurement and analytics: Responsibility for the oversight of measurement and reporting for the function. Lead the design and implementation of processes and systems that actively measure, manage, optimise and communicate the performance of the content published by the firm against objectives and strategies.

Project Management: The Thought Leadership team is a busy, fast-paced team that juggles many high-priority projects concurrently, always executed and delivered to an excellent standard. The candidate must have strong project management and workflow/team management skills, and uses models and processes that drive efficiency, leveraging external partners when necessary.

Editorial: The Head of Thought Leadership is an important gatekeeper of the firm’s brand and has a keen eye for potential reputational and brand risks. The candidate must have superb attention to detail across all content types. Exceptional writing and editorial skills are non-negotiable. 

Collaboration: This is a highly collaborative role that depends on excellent working relationships and collaboration with other members of the integrated Markets team, including Marketing, Communications and Business Development.

Requirements:

  • Native/fluent English speaker
  • 10+ years’ experience in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline, with a proven track record of leading an in-house content function essential.
  • Excellent writing skills coupled with excellent editorial skills
  • Digital first focus: focus on SEO optimisation
