Position: Corporate Events & Hospitality Assistant Manager (Maternity Cover)
The Markets function within Central Business Services (CBS) play a critical role in helping deliver against EY’s purpose and vision, by delivering distinctive, client-centric marketing, brand, communications and business development initiatives, that have a measurable impact.
We have an exciting opportunity for a maternity cover position within our Marketing team – the Corporate Events & Hospitality Assistant Manager.
This is a great opportunity to join the EY Ireland Markets team, helping the business to win in the market, through enhancing client relationships, supporting opportunities for revenue growth and strengthening our brand, via our impressive programme of strategic events.
This role reports directly to the Head of Events and Sponsorship, with some line management responsibility.
This role will suit an experienced corporate events and hospitality assistant manager with extensive event management experience. The Events and Hospitality Assistant Manager will:
- Plan and execute a number of client events; including breakfast briefings, seminars, roundtables, conferences, webcasts etc
- Plan and manage our EY Hospitality programme of activity (Rugby, Taste of Dublin, EY Golf Classic, GAA and lots more)
- Be proactive, resourceful and take ownership of projects while working closely with the Head of Events and Sponsorship
- Have experience planning and executing virtual events and knowledge of virtual event platforms
- Attention to detail and ability to drive event execution through timeline management, deliverables, team accountability, issue/risk management
- Manage negotiations and relationships with external suppliers, specific to the firm’s events and hospitality needs.
- Help drive and embed the EY brand to ensure effective execution in events logistics and production.
- Develop detailed project plans for selected events, in conjunction with key stakeholders in the business.
- Maximize the firm’s visual identity and brand messaging across all events and hospitality activities.
- Manage all end-to-end elements around key events and hospitality: room/venue bookings, catering, collateral production, preparation of delegate packs, mailings, registration etc.
- Ensure effective communication and promotional activities around events for internal and external purposes.
- Manage key event budgets, apply appropriate events metrics and work with the Head of Events to produce ROI reports.
- Work with key stakeholders to help drive the business development outcomes intended for events and hospitality.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Solid experience of strategic end-to-end event management, ideally from a financial or professional services background.
- Experience of working in large/matrix organisations, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong Project management skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Experience of using marketing databases
- Good negotiation and budgetary skills
- Proven track record of managing external suppliers
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Passion for applying innovation and technology to create unique event experiences.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience of end-to-end event and production management ideally from a financial or professional services background. Alternatively, agency experience of working with large corporate accounts
