The Role:

  • EY Ireland seeking to recruit an exceptional candidate to join its Corporate Communications team, focused primarily on external communications
  • The successful candidate will join a collaborative, high-impact and successful corporate communications team, supporting and delivering on external communications activities including the development of media releases, media engagement, communications messaging, stakeholder management and assisting on a diverse range of communication campaigns and projects
  • The successful applicant will have excellent writing skills, a keen eye for detail, experience engaging with senior stakeholders, a creative flair and be extremely well organised. They will be capable of working on their own initiative, as well as part of a team and they will enjoy working in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • This role will be based at EY’s office in Dublin 2 and will be primarily in office, with some capacity for flexible working.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute external communication strategies to enhance the firm's reputation and visibility.
  • Prepare strategic communications materials including press release, media comments, articles, emails, video and digital content
  • Engage with media across regional, trade and national publications daily
  • Lead on Regional Communications for EY on the island of Ireland
  • Liaise with Markets team members, graphic designers, translators and other internal stakeholders to plan, develop, finalize and distribute communications
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, including photocalls and media briefings.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide analysis and reports to senior management.
  • Proactively and consistently contribute ideas and creativity to brainstorming and planning discussions, as well as team meetings
  • Support the day-to-day activity of the Communications team

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

 

  • At least 2 years of experience in journalism, PR agency or in house communications
  • A passion for media in all its forms – from national and international publications, through to regional and trade media – as well as good knowledge of the Irish media landscape
  • Strong media relations skills and a network of media contacts.
  • Proven ability to contribute creative ideas to the team in campaign planning and creation of content
  • Compelling written and verbal communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is essential; professional experience with Excel highly regarded.

 

Ideally, you will also have

 

  • 3rd level qualification and/or relevant professional qualifications
  • Previous experience in an organisation of significant scale
  • Experience working with Generative AI chatbots (for example Microsoft Copilot) for communications and content creation
