At EY, we are continuing to grow our Supply Chain & Operations Consulting practice to meet increasing client demand for digital transformation across Life Sciences manufacturing, laboratory, quality, supply chain, and AI-enabled operations.

Within our Life Sciences Supply Chain Manufacturing Operations & AI Transformation Delivery team, we help pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device organizations modernize laboratory and quality operations, unlock value from digital technologies, improve data quality and governance, and accelerate adoption of next-generation capabilities including AI, advanced analytics, and intelligent automation.

In addition to delivering client engagements, you will contribute to the growth of EY's Life Sciences consulting practice through business development, solution development, thought leadership, and team development activities.

As a Manager in Supply Chain Manufacturing Operations & AI Transformation Delivery, you will work with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical-device organizations to transform laboratory and quality operations through process optimization, digital enablement, and AI-driven innovation.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Manager in Supply Chain, you will:

  • Lead proposal development and contribute to account growth activities.
  • Support market-facing initiatives that enhance EY's position in Life Sciences digital transformation.
  • Contribute to the development of go-to-market offerings, methodologies, and reusable solution assets.
  • Lead people initiatives including recruiting, development, coaching, and career progression activities.
  • Contribute to the wider Supply Chain & Operations Consulting practice through operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead client-facing laboratory, quality, and manufacturing transformation workstreams with ownership for scope, deliverables, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Assess current-state laboratory, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain processes to identify operational inefficiencies, compliance risks, and transformation opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to define business requirements, future-state operating models, process improvements, and technology strategies.
  • Lead process standardization initiatives across sites, functions, and business units to improve consistency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Oversee the development of process maps, business requirements, user stories, functional designs, operating procedures, and implementation documentation.
  • Direct the review, rationalization, and modernization of SOPs, Work Instructions, and controlled documentation impacted by process and technology changes.
  • Translate laboratory and operational requirements into master data, configuration, integration, reporting, analytics, and AI solution requirements.
  • Drive requirements, design, testing, deployment, change management, and business-readiness activities across transformation programs.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, implementation partners, and technology vendors to ensure proposed solutions align with business goals and operational workflows.
  • Support the implementation of laboratory, quality, manufacturing, and data platforms, including LIMS, MES, QMS, ERP, and analytics solutions.
  • Define master data governance requirements and support data standardization efforts across laboratory and manufacturing environments.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics and AI capabilities to improve laboratory productivity, quality oversight, process compliance, decision-making, and operational performance.
  • Ensure consideration of GxP, data integrity, electronic records, validation, and change-control requirements throughout project delivery.
  • Manage workstream scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and resource plans while providing regular updates to client and EY leadership teams.
  • Develop trusted relationships with client stakeholders and act as a strategic advisor throughout the transformation journey.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to engagement team members and support knowledge sharing across the practice.
  • Contribute to solution asset creation, thought leadership, and the continued development of EY's Life Sciences consulting capabilities.

  • Experience facilitating decision-making across complex, cross-functional stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of data, analytics, and AI opportunities within laboratory, quality, and manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to lead global and geographically dispersed teams across multiple regions and time zones.

 

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • A bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Life Sciences operations, laboratory informatics, quality operations, business process transformation, digital transformation, technology consulting, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in consulting roles, leading client-facing transformation or system implementation workstreams from design through deployment.
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, or comparably regulated environments.
  • Experience leading workshops, requirements gathering activities, and future-state process design efforts.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams comprising business stakeholders, technology teams, and implementation partners.
  • Strong understanding of regulated environments, including GxP, data integrity, validation, and quality requirements.
  • Experience developing executive-level communications, transformation roadmaps, and business cases.
  • Ability to travel as needed based on business and role requirements.

 

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • Experience with Veeva LIMS, LabWare, LabVantage, or other laboratory informatics platforms.
  • Experience leading LIMS, laboratory digital transformation, or quality transformation programs.
  • Experience with MES, ERP, QMS, manufacturing data platforms, and enterprise integrations.
  • Knowledge of master data design, governance, and operating models.
  • Experience supporting global template design and multi-site deployments.
  • Experience with analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or digital innovation programs supporting laboratory and manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with computer system validation (CSV), Computer Software Assurance (CSA), and risk-based validation approaches.
  • Experience managing system integrators, technology vendors, and external delivery partners.
  • Relevant certifications in project management, Agile delivery, quality management, data, cloud technologies, or Life Sciences systems.
