The team and the opportunity
Your key responsibilities
- Build senior relationships within client organisations, working with them to understand their most critical business problems, strategic priorities and transformation ambitions.
- Lead Data & AI and process optimisation engagements from opportunity shaping and solution design through to delivery, value tracking and adoption.
- Work with EY teams across Finance, Data, AI, Digital, Risk and sector teams to evaluate, design and implement end-to-end solutions that improve Finance performance and decision-making.
- Lead accelerated discovery and current-state assessments across Finance data, technology, process and people to identify high-value transformation opportunities.
- Assess AI readiness, data foundations and architecture to define scalable, practical and responsible paths to AI adoption in Finance.
- Design target operating models, governance and ways of working that improve accountability, enable hub-and-spoke models where relevant, and support future growth.
- Drive process optimisation and digital process re-engineering across core Finance processes using design-led thinking, Lean principles, automation, analytics and AI.
- Translate strategy into pragmatic roadmaps, investment cases and value-realisation plans centred on Data & AI outcomes.
- Lead and develop high-performing, diverse teams aligned to EY’s values, delivering exceptional client service and coaching team members for growth.
- Contribute to business development through thought leadership, opportunity origination, proposal development, commercial shaping and external market engagement.
Skills and attributes for Success
- 8–10 years’ relevant experience in Finance transformation, performance improvement, enterprise analytics, Data & AI, or closely related consulting and industry roles.
- A strong track record delivering large-scale Finance transformation, process optimisation, analytics or AI-enabled programmes.
- Experience implementing AI in finance processes within organisations from design through to implementation and roll-out.
- Experience in business development and solution design for complex, multi-national businesses.
- Demonstrable experience building senior client relationships and originating, shaping and leading major engagements.
- Strong understanding of Finance processes, Finance operating models and how data, analytics and AI can be applied to improve performance.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing delivery across strategy, design and implementation phases.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in management consulting or delivery of multiple Finance Data & AI / Finance transformation programmes in industry.
- Strong technical problem-solving capability and the ability to translate business problems into data, process and technology solutions.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, visual outputs and executive-ready insights.
- Excellent facilitation, workshop design and presentation skills.
- Experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with leading AI platforms such as SAP Joule, Microsoft Copilot (Fabric/Azure), Oracle AI, and other workflow and automation solutions is highly desirable.

- Recent work in the market demonstrates growing demand for Finance of the Future programmes that combine strategy, data, AI and operating model change.
- You will help clients define high-value opportunities across Finance Data & AI, including accelerated discovery, AI readiness and architecture review, operating model optimisation and roadmap/value-realisation design.
- Creating a Finance Data, AI and Automation hub to improve interconnected decision-making across reporting, planning, controls and compliance.
- Connecting Finance and non-Finance data through enterprise analytics solutions with common KPIs, interoperable data and natural-language insight experiences.
- Applying AI across Finance processes such as close, reconciliations, forecasting, variance analysis, procure-to-pay and order-to-cash to reduce manual effort and improve quality, speed and insight.
