The team and the opportunity
To continue the successful growth of our Infrastructure & Capital Projects team within EY’s Consulting practice, we are looking for experienced and motivated Senior Contract Managers to lead contract management across complex, high‑value capital programmes. In this role you will play a critical part in a leadership position in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle - ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, managing risks, and maximising project success.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams, ensuring robust commercial governance, proactive risk management, and compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations, while supporting the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

Your key responsibilities
To continue to grow EY’s successful I&CP business, we are currently hiring Senior Contract Managers with an engineering/technical or construction related background.
A. Client Delivery & Contract Leadership
- Work directly with EY’s infrastructure clients to develop insight‑led, practical contract management solutions aligned with programme objectives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop and implement contract management strategies that support programme schedules, budgets, and delivery outcomes.
- Lead contract formation activities, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Provide expert advice on contract strategy, commercial models, and risk allocation across infrastructure programmes.
B. Contract Management & Governance
- Monitor and enforce compliance with contract terms, conditions and specifications, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Manage contractual changes, variations, and claims, assessing impacts on scope, schedule, and cost, and securing appropriate approvals.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage contractual and commercial risks in collaboration with project and client stakeholders.
- Track contract performance against agreed KPIs, milestones and deliverables, providing clear reporting to project teams and senior management.
- Ensure contract governance processes are robust, transparent and aligned with industry best practice.
C. Commercial & Stakeholder Management
- Monitor contract budgets, expenditures, and invoicing, resolving discrepancies and ensuring alignment with overall financial controls.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and delivery partners to promote collaboration and alignment with programme objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date contract records, documentation, and reporting outputs, including executive‑level status reports and presentations.
D. Internal Responsibilities
- Support client account management activities, including project resourcing, financial management, and quality and risk management.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and EY colleagues to support growth and business development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with EY senior leadership and support the development and management of high performing contract and commercial teams.
- Develop a strong understanding of EY service offerings and identify opportunities to enhance value for clients.
- Build strong relationships across Consulting and other EY service lines.
- Support people and capability development, including: o Coaching and mentoring team members
o Conducting performance reviews and contributing to feedback
o Supporting recruitment, retention, and training initiatives
o Driving continuous professional and technical development
o Promoting compliance with EY workplace policies and procedures
Skills and attributes for success:
- 15–20 years’ experience in contract and commercial management within infrastructure, capital projects, or regulated utilities.
- 3rd level educational qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. NEC, FIDIC) and claims/variation management.
- Thorough understanding of contract management principles and practices, including contract administration, risk management, change management and dispute resolution.
- Experience in consulting or similar client facing role
- Background combining engineering, construction, commercial, or legal disciplines.
- Experience operating at senior stakeholder level, providing strategic and commercial advice.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to operate effectively across multiple workstreams in fast‑paced programme environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Expertise in:
- FiDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers),
- LOGIC (Leading oil and gas industry competitiveness),
- NEC4 (New Engineering Contract)
