The opportunity

 

The Senior Oracle EBS DBA will be responsible for the comprehensive management, support, and optimization of Oracle E-Business Suite environments on Exadata platforms. This role includes the installation, configuration, and maintenance of EBS 12.2.9 on Solaris, Enterprise Command Center (ECC) on Linux, SOA Suite and Managed File Transfer (MFT) on Solaris, and Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA)/Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) on Linux. Additionally, the DBA will manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for configuration and monitoring of the Oracle landscape. The DBA will ensure the integrity, security, and high performance of the databases and related applications.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.9 on Solaris platforms, including Enterprise Command Center (ECC) on Linux.
  • Manage Oracle Exadata database machines, optimizing their performance and ensuring their integration with EBS environments.
  • Install, configure, and administer Oracle SOA Suite and MFT on Solaris platforms.
  • Set up and maintain Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) on Linux.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU) patching and EBS cloning procedures.
  • Provide technical administration for EBS, SOA, MFT, OBIA, and OBIEE environments, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Configure and utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for comprehensive monitoring and management of the Oracle technology stack.
  • Monitor database and application performance, tuning the systems as necessary for optimal functionality.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and high-availability strategies for all Oracle environments.
  • Document all configurations, processes, and procedures related to the management of the Oracle systems.
  • Provide on-call support for critical database issues and perform after-hours maintenance as required.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network administrators, and developers to ensure seamless integration and operation of database systems.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is preferred, with additional certifications in Exadata, Oracle Middleware, and OEM being advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a DBA with at least 5 years focused on Oracle EBS environments on Exadata.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing Oracle EBS 12.2.9 on Solaris, including ECC on Linux.
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of Oracle SOA Suite and MFT on Solaris.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining OBIA/OBIEE on Linux.
  • Proficient in Oracle CPU patching processes and EBS cloning techniques.
  • Strong background in the technical administration of EBS, SOA, MFT, OBIA, and OBIEE environments.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for configuration and monitoring.
