We are seeking a Senior Consultant or Assistant Manager to join our busy Irish team.
As a member of our team you will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the team. This is achieved by being inspirational, curious, accountable and results-focused at all times, and proactively asking for and accepting help where required.
What will I be doing
The role will involve:
- Helping our clients meet demands for expatriate and employment tax reporting, compliance, planning, tax policy and controversy management in a fast-paced technology enabled business world.
- Managing a diverse portfolio of advisory and compliance engagements on domestic and international clients across a broad range of sectors.
- Assisting in the provision of advice to clients on a range of larger and/or multidisciplinary advisory projects, including attendance at meetings and liaising with foreign EY offices.
- Involvement in tax advisory projects as well as assisting with client proposals. Involving in internal technical, business development and training initiatives.
- Day-to-day delivery of client solutions and ongoing management of client expectations.
- Managing the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business driven approach.
- Building a network within the firm to optimise cross-selling opportunities and leverage the latest technologies available.
- Contributing to winning new work by proactively managing existing client portfolios and delivering excellent client service to identify further opportunities and contribute to winning new clients.
- Reporting directly to Senior Management including Tax Partners and Directors.
What do we look for
Requirements for prospective candidates include:
- Strong technical skills and effective working knowledge of Tax in Ireland and/or internationally.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional environment within a tax department.
- Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards.
- Client focused and commercially aware. Ability to build strong client relationships and professional networks.
- Excellent communicator in a range of situations, both written and oral with an aptitude to build and manage key client relationships and internal network
- Relationship management skills with ability to manage client expectations and efficient and successful delivery of tax services.
- Tax or Accounting qualification
- Experience working in practice in Assurance or Tax would be favorable.
- Interest in joining a dynamic team who wants to develop their business tax expertise and broaden their experience in a fast moving, technology enabled business world.
- A team player with a strength in coaching and developing others.
- A good work ethic and openness to new challenges. Commercial awareness and ability to develop business opportunities in order to generate growth within the firm.
