Job Purpose
Reporting to Service Line Ireland leadership and IOI leadership, the purpose of this influential support role is to the Service Line Lead and Service Line Operations partner by taking many of the day to day business decisions and participating in the development and execution of the Service Line strategy and ambition.
Core responsibilities
Business Performance
- Evaluate performance against Financial Plan targets and key performance drivers (e.g. Price, activity, etc.) - identify issues in a timely manner and propose and execute actions in response
- Update leadership on performance, rationale for performance and agree actions
- Working closely with our Finance support team to be on top of weekly financial performance
- Drive business improvement initiatives through innovative thinking and solutions
- Lead the yearly annual strategic and financial planning processes (e.g. Market Leadership Plans, FY Plans and periodic reforecasting)
- Drive operational support teams to deliver service levels required for the business to succeed and meets its targets including:
- Understanding and management of indirect cost
Outlook
- Perform periodic reforecasts, update leadership and propose actions in response
- Develop an understanding on sales and pipeline and impact on future trading
- Assess sales and pipeline performance and other outlook indicators - identify, propose and execute actions in response
- Identify business risks and issue and develop and execute plans to mitigate
People
- Oversee recruitment planning, identifying and approving searches and offers
- Together with the SL People Partner, SL leader and the Talent team, manage the yearly pay and review process including communication strategy
- Provide support on the LEAD process and ensure the smooth running of the Leadership LEAD reviews
- Support the SL People Partner and the Talent team in the execution of their Talent strategy
Transformation
- Identify and deliver transformation opportunities (technology and process improvement) to enable the business to operate more effectively.
- Drive behavioural change to embed commercial awareness in the business;
Other
- Miscellaneous operational, tactical and strategic projects upon request. These vary year on year and include taking a role in the delivery of firm wide change projects in conjunction, where appropriate, with Global or Area Service Line initiatives
- Engage and liaise with the COO on Firm wide initiatives and change programmes, where appropriate.
Attributes
In conducting their role, the Operations lead will demonstrate the following experience / attributes:
- An experienced Senior Manager /Director
- Financially literate "finisher", who can demonstrate a highly commercial approach
- An active member of the leadership team with the ability to operate on a peer basis with the SL leadership team and ability to influence key stakeholders
- Confident and can bring fresh insight to business problems
- An ability to delegate and oversee execution across functional silos (team leaders, recruitment, HR, finance)
- Ability to build highest performing teams
- Pro-active, self-starter with ability to influence 360 degrees.
