Job Summary

As a SOC manager, you will play a critical role in our Security Operations Centre, responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents. You will leverage your expertise to analyse security alerts, conduct investigations, and implement remediation strategies. This position is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers in cybersecurity, with opportunities for growth into senior analyst roles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools, analyse incidents, and respond promptly to mitigate threats.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of potential threats and vulnerabilities, staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends.
  • Document incidents and responses, prepare detailed reports for management, and contribute to incident response plans.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 SOC Analysts, provide guidance, and mentor junior analysts in their professional development.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and recommend enhancements to security processes.
  • Recommend improvements to security tools and procedures to strengthen the SOC's capabilities.
  • Engage in ongoing training to stay current in the cybersecurity field and enhance personal skills.
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to improve the overall security posture of the organization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity role, with strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, attack vectors, and incident response cycle.
  • Experience analysing logs from diverse security tools (e.g., EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies).
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, or Sentinel).
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), MITRE ATT&CK framework and common TTPs.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as GIAC (GCIA, GCIH, GMON), CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, or Microsoft SC-200.
  • Experience with cloud security monitoring (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (Python, PowerShell, etc.) to streamline SOC processes.
  • Exposure to threat intelligence platforms and integration into SOC workflows.
  • Previous consulting or client-facing experience.
