The EY Financial Services (FS) – Consulting team is continuing to grow and develop our unique consulting propositions aligned to the market needs and demands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful IRB models, as well as experience managing a team of risk modelling professionals.

 

The role will need a primary focus on developing and maintaining IRB models for various portfolios, adhering to IRB regulations, and collaborating with stakeholders to discuss technical and business matters. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large volumes of data and using programming languages such as SAS, SQL, and Advanced Excel. This position requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, analytical skills, and proficiency in managing a team and people, working across EMEIA.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain IRB models for various portfolios, including Consumer SME, Retail SME, Investment Property, and UK Corporate
  • Prepare and analyse data for IRB model development, including data engineering, handling large volumes of data, and data remediation
  • Develop models for PD, LGD, and EAD, and test model accuracy and effectiveness
  • Understand and adhere to IRB regulations, including the EBA Guidelines and ECB Guide to Internal Models (EGIM)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior management, to discuss technical and business matters related to IRB model development
  • Manage and mentor a team of risk modelling professionals to ensure successful execution of IRB model development initiatives
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of IRB models, making recommendations for optimization and improvement
  • Stay knowledgeable about industry and regulatory IRB model development trends, and apply insights to drive innovation and competitive advantage

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience for Senior Manager, 6+ years for Manager and 4+ years for Senior Consultants in IRB model development, with a proven track record of success and experience working across cross functional teams.
  • Ability to manage team is must for Senior Manager role
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of risk modelling professionals
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply data insights to drive innovation and decision-making
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including SAS (macros), SQL, and Advanced Excel
  • In-depth understanding of IRB regulations, including EBA Guidelines and ECB Guide to Internal Models (EGIM)
  • Familiarity with IFRS/ST and experience in Irish and UK asset portfolios an advantage
